The Flash | Season 9 Episode 13 - "A New World, Part Four"

Hello everyone!

So here it is... The final episode of The Flash! 

I wish I brought you an amazing rant and I wish I was excited about this ending but... That isn't the case. 

As expected, the finale of The Flash was just like the remaining of the season (and the past few seasons) - just average (if not kinda bad). The thing is, they rushed everything so much! I get it, they had a ton of storylines to wrap up, but I guess they should have thought about that in the previous episodes. This episode should have been exciting and so unpredictable and, apart from one little detail, it was just more of the same... Same rushed plots, same lame conclusions and same focus on all the other characters that you don't care so much about...

The beginning of the episode was actually pretty exciting, with Eddie - now Cobalt Blue - resurrecting Thawne, Zoom, Savitar and Godspeed, all the past villains. Well, needless to say that I was pretty excited about Zoom's comeback but all of that was shortlived. They are all defeated by the halfway point and the remaining of the episode is focused on tying up loose ends. I mean, I liked having Zoom back and, as much as I was tired of everything being about Thawne, I also liked having Tom Cavanagh back for one final episode.

And, in true The Flash fashion, Barry defeats Eddie by talking him out of it. I guess it is true what the show has always been, right? So Barry convinces Eddie/the Negative Speed Force to coexist and Eddie destroys the crystal. 

The next morning Nora is born and the most surprising thing of this episode - Khione ascends as the natural order's protector and as she does so she returns her body to Caitlin so yes, Caitlin is back! That was indeed surprising and was what made the episode better for me.

One week later Joe asks Cecile to marry him (which was kind of odd because I didn't even realize they weren't married yet) and Barry unleashes a lightning bolt and chooses Avery Ho, Max Mercury and Jess Chambers as new speedsters. And that's how the series end...

Personally, it was really unfilfilling... I wanted something more shocking! And as much as people might have said that it could be copying Arrow, I wish the show had ended on a 'worst' note, maybe with Barry still vanishing. They have been hinting at that throughout the whole show, and I know it was supposed to happen in crisis, but they could still make it happen and that would have been a full circle moment but... Okay...

The Flash | Season 9 Episode 12 - "A New World, Part Three"

Hello people!

So here we are... This is the second to last episode and I know I'm super late with it but I had to review it before the very last episode of the show... This is really bittersweet because this episode (episode 12) wasn't the best and that doesn't give me any hopes for the series finale. It's weird because the previous one was pretty bad and all we wanted was for them to focus on Eddie's storyline... Well, they did focus on Eddie in this one but it was just weird! Not a lot made sense and the episode just had a strange vibe overall. I can't pin point exactly what it was but it just felt wrong...

Once again, the crystal possesses someone - Nora West-Allen this time - in order to get Eddie to accept being the Negative Speed Force's vessel. Of course Barry appears just in time and escapes with Eddie. Then we learn that Eddie is angered by how his sacrifice didn't erase the Reverse-Flash and how he was forgotten and Barry lived an 'happy' life and married Iris. 

Then, there's another side plot that, honestly, that might have been why this episode just didn't make much sense and was kind of a waste of time, because we focused on Cecile after she projects her consciousness to the future and learns that she hasn't been visiting Joe and their daughter as much in the last few years and that just messes with her and makes her unable to help Team Flash in the present. That until Chester has a 'deep talk' with her and of course she suddenly is able to help them and frees Nora from the crystal's influence. 

At the same time, in the future, Eddie asks 2049 Iris to be with him again, but she rejects him. After that the timeline begins to fracture and 2049 Iris talks with present Barry before he is pulled away again. The episode ends with Eddie accepting the power of the crystal and opening up a portal.

We do know that this last episode will deal with multiple villains from all The Flash's seasons, one of them being Zoom, which I am indeed excited about, but I'm also cautious because from the last few episodes, it doesn't really look like they will be able to wrap everything up the best way but we'll see... 

So this is the final time we are able to speculate and theorize so let me know, in this last few minutes, what do you think will happen in the series finale and do you think Barry will vanish at the end? I would say yes and I that's the way I would want the show to end - no happy ending - but I hope they will be able to surprise me (in a good way, of course). The Flash | Season 9 Episode 8-10

I know, I know... This time I've really messed up and I didn't post for a whole month (or more, I can't even remember) and so, because of that, because I've missed two posts already, I decided to just rant about the last three episodes all in just one post - I hope you don't mind. So, I have a lot to get through so let's get to it!

Episode 8 was a whole mess! I don't remember a lot from that episode (I guess I blocked a lot of it because it was that bad) but I remember that it was about Barry and Iris being trapped in the STAR Labs with a few DOE agents and then, when they realize what happened, they get trapped in a time loop until they figure out who stole a time magnet. The whole thing was so cliché and felt like a recycled storyline.

This season we've had them stuck in the same day, Iris trapped in a dream and now them trapped in a time loop?! It just felt like more of the same and, right away, I was so uninterested.

Everything became even worst when they figure out who did steal the time magnet and it all came down to the person that didn't know the name of a particular thing (don't ask me what because I don't remember it). Barry then is able to convince her to restore the time magnet and be arrested instead of dying and so the time loop stops. That was it for episode 8 - really underwhelming. Luckily, things got better so let's move on to Episode 9.

Episode 9 was the one I was most excited about - Stephen Amell's come back as Arrow! And I'm so happy that Oliver was there for real! 

The way the episode started really looked like it was going to be something set in a dream or it was just an illusion (because it was all about Ramsey Rosso messing with Barry again) but gladly it wasn't 'fake'. Basically Ramsey 'possessed' Wally and Wally killed Barry. But before Barry really died, in a 'purgatory' world, he met with Oliver who helps Barry accept the guilt he feels and then resurrects Barry. But not just that! In order to help him defeat Ramsey, Oliver also comes back to the real world and Barry, Oliver, Diggle and Wally both fight Ramsey to restore the multiverse! Everything was really emotional and having Oliver back, even if just for one episode made everything worth it! 

The latest episode, Episode 10, was the beginning of a new storyline, the ending one and, after that last episode I really wasn't hopeful. I really thought having Oliver in the episode was the peak for this season and, even though Episode 10 wasn't the best, I'm gald I was wrong and this new story looks pretty interesting. It's just unfortunate that it took them 9 episodes to get to the actual storyline they wanted to pursue this season... What a waste of 8 episodes...

But anyway, this last episode sees Barry travel back in time to the day his mother dies. As you can imagine, this episode was really nostalgic, with a lot of references to the first seasons, which was great! Barry goes to Joe for help and, for the first time, Barry seems really careful with everything he does so he won't mess up the timeline. Unfortunately Joe can't really help and when he goes to someone else he's attacked by Thawne - yes, Thawne again. That's when his parents help him, not knowing who he really his, and take him to the hospital and later they all have dinner together. It's after all of that that Barry meets with Thawne and the later gloats about Barry not being able to stop his plan of killing younger Barry. 

After a few things happen, Barry participates in the fight in which Thawne kills Nora and we have one of the coolest scenes with a ton of Barrys from different timelines and with the 'present day' Barry warning one of the other ones to not interfere. Afterwards, Barry tells Thawne that he has made peace with Nora's death and is transported away again.

The episode ends with someone that looks like Eddie Thawne being struck by lightning and finding a file about Eddie's death, wondering who he really is.

As I said, this final episodes look like are going to bring something interesting and I did like both episode 9 and 10 and loved all the nostalgic bits and references to ealy seasons, so let's hope the remaining 3 episodes are just as good as this past ones and hopefully it's not about Thawne again because, although he is one of the best villains The Flash has ever had, I'm tired of being always about him. Also, Zoom hasn't appeared yet so... Let's see how he comes back and how everything ties in.

The Flash | Season 9 Episode 7 - "Wildest Dreams"

Hello people!

I know, I know... Late as per usual, so let's just get past that move straight to the episode!

Last week's episode was... Okay... I can't say it was bad because I was fairly entertained, the thing is... Again, this is the final season and this episode didn't add anything to the overall plot... It just added more things and made it more complicated... I mean, not exactly complicated but they're entertaining plots and characters that we didn't really remember and bringing characters from other shows which, I know they are an important part of this final season but c'mon! We want more Flash and less everything else. On top of all of that, it looks like they're coming to an end with a very specific character's story and that just makes me really sad because it was someone that I was starting to like and I thought he gave so much to to actual story... Anyway, I've rambled enough, let's get into specifics.

As I said, this episode was all about soemthing and, to be honest, didn't really matter for this season - Nia Nal searching for some type of dream energy. 

First of all, I haven't seen all of Supergirl so I barely knew who Nia was and second, why do we need that storyline on The Flash?! The only thing that connected all of this was Nia seeing Iris in the dream/nightmare where she lost her powers and so, because of that, she went to Central City to ask for Iris' help. Of course there wasn't much Iris could do and this whole thing got them stuck in a dream/nightmare with the sole purpose of making Iris realize that destiny is not one choice, but the result of a lifetime of choices (that because this whole episode is about Iris and her article that will get her to win a Pullitzer).

The end of this 'dream' is really anticlimatic because Iris realizes that and Nia has to realize that she needs to give up control and when she does so, she meets the spirit of the first Naltorian with dream abillities and after that they wake up... So anticlimatic!

Besides that storyline we follow that other storyline with Mark and Khione which I was really getting into but they had to screw everything with this episode. 

Everything started with Mark taking Khione out to do activities that he liked to do with Frost and completely ignoring everything that Khione actually wanted to do. Of course she realizes that he's doing and leaves. Later, Mark apologizes to Khione and decides to leave Central City, causing Khione to inadvertently freeze Cecile's banquet. 

This last bit was interesting, yes, but I'm kind of angry that they're just 'getting rid of' Mark just like that... I was really enjoying the dynamic between those two and it almost made me forget about the whole Caitlin/Frost fiasco. The show really screwed up with killing Caitlin. Not only she was a character that most people liked but creating Khione to replace her and not give her enough episodes to grow... It's really disappointing and at this point I've lost hope that they'll be able to finish this season on a good note.

Of course I'm going to keep watching but I already know that Oliver is going to be in episode 9 so... I'm not going to be that pumped for the remaining of the season... But we'll see... I'm not really hopeful but I guess I'll keep watching to see what stupic things they do with the remaining of the show.

The Flash | Season 9 Episode 5 - "The Mask of the Red Death, Part 2"

Hello people!

Yes, it's real, I'm here on time, the day after the episode airs to talk to you about it so let's not waste any time and get to it!

This episode, unlike the last one, was so damn predictable! Predictable and so cringe! I guess they really stayed true to the essence of the show and made this one super cliché - full of all the things that we expect from the show - pep talks, Barry getting to the bad guys with words and people not really dying.

Remember what I said in my previous rant about Mark? Well, guess what?! He isn't really dead. Wow, I'm so suprised (not). Don't get me wrong, I'm actually really happy that he isn't, and his new storyline with Khione is looking really interesting (what can I say, I love a bit of romance) but let's be honest, no one really thought he was dead for real and, as per usual, The Flash plays it like it's a huge surprise when it really isn't.

Anyway, that's basically how the episode starts - with The Rogues attacking CCPD, capturing Kramer and, in order to find Red Death, they get help from Cecile which, with her powers, she finds Red Death but finds someone else as well - Mark. 

Post that, of course Barry plans to rescure Mark and, when he does so, he's attacked by Red Death, who drains him off his powers and creates psychic extensions of herself around the world, with the help of none other than Grodd.

I guess when it comes to bringing back big characters the show is doing a great job - incorporating Hartley, Goldface and all the other 'bad guys' and now Grodd is making the show more interesting. And let's not forget the fact that it's confirmed that Zoom, Eddie and Oliver are going to be in this season is what's making me a little bit excited for the remaining of it. 

But back to the episode, the story that I'm most interested in right now is Mark/Khione, because in this episdoe Khione awakens Mark with a kiss (really Sleeping Beauty like) and we see a cold breath getting out of Mark's mouth and basically into Khione's and we also see in the preview that Mark is going to start 'training' Khione so she can find her powers and, having in mind that I don't know anthing about this Khione character, I'm really looking forward to know what's going to happen with her. And, obviously, I would love some romance between them because the Frost/Mark romance was shortlived.

Well, after that stuff with Khione and Mark, we get back to the Grodd storyline and, after that usual talk between Joe and Barry, Barry goes to Grodd to appeal to his soft/hero side to help The Flash. After Barry agrees to help Grodd find his community, Grodd helps to restore his speed and they dispel Red Death's doubles. And, in the end, with the help of Hartley's group and the main timeline's Ryan, Barry defeats Red Death and she's locked up in an A.R.G.U.S. facility. 

Two weeks later, Joe moves to the countryside with Jenna while Cecile stays on Team Flash, and at his farewell party, Chester and Allegra continue their relationship and Khione announce Iris' pregnancy, which wasn't supposed to begin for another three months. 

With all of these set ups, it's really a shame that the only thing I'm excited about is what I mentioned before - Mark/Khione. It's a shame that Joe won't be around that much anymore and that Cecile is the one staying because, honestly, I don't find her character interesting at all. Her powers are really big, yes, but I guess that's the main issue, she's 'too powerfull' which takes the fun out of things (plus, I don't think Danielle Nicolet is a great actress, at least, not as Cecile so... it always puts me off). On top of that, I don't really care about Allegra and Chester's relationship, although Barry's comment in this episode was gold, and as far as the pregancy goes... I guess we'll see what happens. This comming three months earlier will definitely mess things up so we'll see...

All in all, I'm curious to see where the remaining of the season goes and if everything else fails, we will at least have Stephen Amell to look forward to so there's that.

The Flash | Season 9 Episode 4 - "The Mask of the Red Death, Part 1"

Okay, I lied. I wasn't able to post this early... I'm so sorry. I'm not even going to explain anymore, let's just get to the episode.

Last week's episode was actually sort of interesting. Some parts were kind of lame but, overall, I was pretty invested and it kept be guessing the whole time. 

Everything starts with Barry being caught by the Red Death and finding out that Mark is working for him/her. Barry also learns that the Red Death uses artificial speed which is a big deal - it means that it isn't the avatar for the Negative Speed Force - it's someone else entirely new. That's when Red Death tries to trick us (and everyone) multiple times. 

While Barry is imprisoned, the Red Death goes to Iris and tries to trick her into saying she's Ryan Wilder that something happened to her when she went after Red Death but Iris figures out pretty quickly that she isn't who she says she is. After that, Ryan reveals that she is from an alternate timeline where she and the Flash became enemies. After being rejected from the Speed Force, she landed in Iris' timeline and wants to use the Cosmic Teadmill to get back to her timeline. However, she wants to take Iris with her in order to trick her timeline's Flash. 

Post that, Red Death brings Iris to her hideout and threatens her life in order to coerce Barry into powering the treadmill, causing a huge lightning storm. And well, because this is The Flash afterall, Barry is able to get to Mark and he sabotages Red Death's plan, helping Barry to get out and destroying the Treadmill in the process. However, not everything ends well for Mark because after that, he is beaten to death by the Rogues and Team Flash evacuates Barry and Iris, leaving Mark and making us believe that he's dead. Personally, I don't think he's really dead but I've seen the actor post some 'farewell' pictures on Instagram so... That made me question my belief, but I guess we'll see in the upcoming episode.

But that's pretty much it. There were other things surrounding Cecile and Joe, and Allegra and Chester but honestly, none of those storylines are that interesting. This whole thing with Red Death looked better than it is turning out to be, but maybe the next episode will surprise me. As I said, this episode was very engaging and I was interested, but there were a lot of The Flash clichés... I honestly hope they can make the story more edgy and not so predictable... I'm tired of Barry just talking to people and everyone just turning good out of a sudden. I'm also tired of those revenge plots and speedsters going after Barry... I want something new, please give me something different!

The Flash | Season 9 Episdoe 3 - "Rogues of War"

Hello people!

I am so so so sorry for being so late with this rant! It's not even that I disliked the episode that much, because I didn't... Life just got in the way, I guess... But I'm here now so let's not waste any time and get to it!

So, needless to say, that my details on this episode are a little foggy but, I do remember that I enjoyed it overall. It started a little slow - not exactly what I wanted when the preview talked about a theft but then they got to that part and I was super into it. Everything ended up being super cliché and predictable but I'm curious to see where this goes because the end of the episode we see who is the "Red Death", and it is none other than Ryan Wilder aka Batwoman! The only unfortane part about that is that I still have two seasons of Batwoman to watch and I feel like I'm going to miss so many references and whatnot but... We'll see...

But back to the beginning of the episode, the Rogues group (aka the people that are working for Red Death) steal a temporal scanner which makes Barry realize that they're building a Cosmic Treadmill and are only missing one piece. In order to prevent that, Barry decides to steal that piece first, but he realizes he needs some help, so he asks Hartley, Mark, Jaco Birch and Goldface for help. They agree to do so but things go a little sideways when they're trying to come up with a plan but Barry can't fully trust them, so they all decide to do the missing without Barry. 

Of course, thing being The Flash, Barry does end up trusting them and they do get on with the plan but, surprise surprise Mark betrays them in exchange for Frost's resurrection.

The Rogues intercept Barry's group while the speedster temporarily disables his speed and escapes with the piece that they needed.

At the same time all off this is happening, we follow a little bit more of Khione and how she's making connections with everyone, including trying to help Allegra to stop avoiding Chester (after the whole kiss thing). 

Well, the episode ends with Hartley, Jaco and Goldface agreeing to keep helping Barry (aka new Team Flash) and Chester informs that the Rogues' equipment are Wayne Enterprises designs and that Ryan Wilder aka Batwoman is missing. After that that's when we see Red Death unsmaking itself and revealing someone that looks like Ryan (which we don't know just yet if it really is her or not). Personally, I would prefer not being her just because that way they could just use the actor but not get the whole Batwoman storyline involved with this last season of The Flash (otherwise I will miss a lot of things), but we'll see...

The whole thing with the Rogues, although great for fight sequences, as I said, was a little cliché, mostly the whole thing with Mark, but I am happy that Hartley is more involved because he's a delight! I have always loved his character and making him more relevant was the best decision the creators did for this season. As far as the whole Khione thing goes... Unfortunately, I kinda miss Caitlin. I also miss Frost though, but Caitlin has been here since the beginning and either Danielle Panabaker was tired of playing her or the producers just gave into the hate and decided to 'create' a new character for Danielle. It does make sense with the story, but I don't think it was the right move for this final season.

The Flash | Season 9 Episode 2 - "Hear No Evil"

Hello people!

I know, I know... A little late with this review but you know the drill... Life gets in the way and, honestly, I just have way more things to say about The Challenge so I always prioritize that... Plus, this episode of The Flash wasn't that eventful. We did have a few surprises and plots that I wasn't expecting and I can see what they're doing with this season (bringing back old characters and whatnot) but it isn't enough yet to get me really hyped about this final season.

The most exciting thing about this episode really was the whole reveal of Danielle Panabaker's new character - Snow. We got a glimpse of her at the end of last episode but in this one she introduced herself as Snow, a blank slate resulting from the Consciousness Resurrection Chamber's malfunction. And that's why Mark goes to Team Flash - in order to 'reverse' what happened. What he doesn't tell them is that he's not only trying tog et Caitlin back, obviously he also wants Frost back, which results in another malfunction.

Post that, they learn that restoring Caitlin and Frost is impossible and vote on who to restore, but ultimately they let Snow choose. 

At the same time all of this is happening, there's another storyline revolving around Hartley Rathaway who, if I rememebr correctly, got to the good side. However, he sort of almost turns bad again when a new villain, The Fiddler, attacks him and kidnaps his boyfriend. Of course Barry gets him to not do anything bad and they rescue Roderick. However, Mercer steals Hartley's sonic gauntlets and retreats with The Fiddler. 

After that is sort of resolved, we get back to the Snow storyline and she reveals that she wants to be her own person, which obviously makes Mark mad. The worst for him though is the fact that Hartley destroys the CRC, having had a nice coversation with Snow and connecting with her. 

The episode ends with the new speedster using the sonic gauntlets to stabilize into a physical form and revealing that he plans to make Central City pay for Barry's actions.

Overall, nothing really new - just a new character in Snow aka Khione which, to be honest, I don't think it was the right move to make. I know people haven't been a fan of Frost not Catlin in the last couple seasons, but this is the final season, it's already enough that we miss Cisco and Wells and Joe won't be a huge part of this season either, now they killed Caitlin... I didn't love this decision but let's see what this new character brings. Having recurring characters back, such as Harltey, is nice but it isn't enough yet. But once again, it's still really early and I'm still looking forward to having Stephen Amell back so... Maybe it will get way better, I still have hope.

The Flash | Season 9 Episode 1 - "Wednesday Ever After"

Hello people!

That's right, The Flash is back and, for once, I was actually really excited about it being back! I didn't necessarily had really high expectations on this particular episode and this particular season, but I was just happy that one of my favourite shows is back and I'm also really excited to talk to you about it.

A lot of people loved this episode - me, I thought it was okay. It did go by pretty fast, so that's a sign that I was, at least, enjoying it, but honestly it's more of the same story. At least, as of right now.

I guess this episode picks up right after the end of last season, just a week after Eobard Thawne's defeat, and we follow Barry being super obsessed with his future, creating a "map book" of future events that will be impactful for his life and Iris' life, including his promotion to director of the Central City Police Department CSI Division, Cat Grant buying Central City Citizen Media and his fight with Captain Boomerang. This part of the episode was pretty interesting and it did remind me of the old Barry - the Barry we had in the first seasons of the show. However, this turns into the same old storyline...

After the fight with Captain Boomerang, the battery that he was stealing explodes and traps Barry and Iris in a time loop. That's when he get to same issues about the future and, although in this episode Barry and Iris had some arguments about the future being something they create and not something that they follow from a book, deep down, it comes to same old issues - The Future. The Future and what Barry does with it... I guess this time Barry tried to be extremely careful and did not mess with the future - instead he tried to be on track which didn't work either.

The basic premise of the episode was that you just have to let the future happen, which is something nice, but coming from The Flash, sounds like something we have heard before (and we likely have heard, to be honest). 

There's not much else to talk about besides the fact that Barry burns the book he created (which is something I thought he shouldn've have done... like, okay, you don't need to be so obsessed with it, but you didn't need to burn it either), he phases with the accelerator, nullifying a nuclear blast, and Chester and Allegra share a kiss - something long overdue!

It's at the very end of the episode that something actually interesting happens - Barry meets with Caitlin and finds she is neither Caitling nor Frost, so who is she?! I bet people that know the comics know who she is but I don't so I'm really curious to find that out. And after that we see Captain Boomerang deliver the power source to a speedster with a Batman emblem, who I don't know who he is either. People are saying it's Red Death (which I have no idea who he is either) but it looks cool so... We'll see...

That's it for my thoughts on the brand new The Flash season! What are your thoughts so far? Do you get the vibes from the first seasons? Personally I'm not that impressed but I have an open mind. Either way, it will be great just for having Stephen Amell back as Arrow so... I'm looking forward to that. In the meantime, let's find out who this new villain is.

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 20 - "Negative, Part Two"

I know, I know... This is super long overdue and I apologise not only for that but for the lack of detail I'm going to give in this rant because, truth is, I've seen this episode almost a month ago and I don't remember a lot of details. I'm going to try and be as detailed as I can get, but I can't promise you anything. With that disclaimer, let's get into the Season Finale of The Flash!

Something I can tell you right away is that this was pretty lame. Everything this season that revolved around the forces wasn't great and honestly the only interesting thing about this episode was actually the turn that Iris' storyline took. I still think it's lame that they didn't make a bigger deal about her death (like, really make it look like she died and only bring her back next season) but I liked the attention to detail that they gave her, which I wasn't expecting and I barely remembered that Time Stone thing. Well, turns out that that stone that Damian Darhk gave Joe in Armageddon meant something and now the stone felt like Iris still had more to give to the world so it saved her in there. I know, it's pretty cringey, but at least they brought back something from previous episodes and tied everything together.

Apart from that, I really didn't like the whole Cecile thing of her reaching to Bashir and bringing the good forces back to fight the negative forces... That was so cringey! And I honestly don't know what else to tell you about that because that was it! They brought them back and Barry alongside with them fought Thawne and defeated him - end of story.

After that, everything went back to normal - Iris was cured from her time sickness, Meena looses her powers, Tinya and her mother are reunited and the only different thing is that Cecile now has the power of telekinesis which, again, is pretty cringey. And lastly they just showed a little bit of that Caitlin storyline where we see Mark encounter someone that he claims to be "a friend". 

Overall, nothing was really exciting about this episode, and for a season finale, it was pretty disappointing. I seriously hope the next season is the last because they don't have exciting stories to tell anymore, and on top of that, the CGI has become worse and worse so... Yeah, just try to end on a better note but end it.

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 19 - "Negative, Part One"

I know, I know... Late once again... I don't need to get into that anymore so let's just move on to the actual episode.

Honestly, I barely remember this one. I do remember how it ends which was shocking but, apart from that, and from what I remember, it was a pretty underwhelming episode. And having in mind that this is the second to last episode... It's really anticlimatic. However, that ending sort of made up for it...

So, we start this episode with the same old Barry revealing his identity to Meena, which is getting pretty old and, honestly, annoying. Then, we move to the actual plot of the episode where Deon kills Thawne and, alongside the other forces, attacks Meena and the new Thawne.

Then, we see Iris appearing in 2049 to Nora and Bart, where she learns that her body is flooded with negative tachyons, preventing her from getting back to her timeline. After learning that, Nora travels to 2022 to inform Team Flash about Iris and that's when they realize that the Negative Forces infected Iris knowing that she would infect the Positive Forces. 

This was honestly such a mess because, not only this story-line is super complicated, but also there's a million other story-lines going on at the same time in this episode alone. We have that one with the Forces, we have Caitlin's story-line where we see her and Mark enter the Consciousness Resurrection Chamber, we have another story-line revolving around Cecile and how she stole Rosalind Dillon's powers and later on realizing that she's now able to steal meta's powers. And, lastly, sort of back to that Forces story-line, we see a thing between Barry, Meena and the new Thawne where Barry teaches Meena to share her powers with Thawne which... Was super damn odd and made no sense to me!

But, as I said, the ending sort of made up for the mess this episode was because, while fighting the Negative Forces, Deon summons Iris and uses her as a sacrifice from Flash's attacks to resurrect the dead Thawne. Still, sort of a mess, but it was pretty surprising the fact that they 'killed' Iris. They didn't really because Candice Patton has confirmed that she will be in Season 9 so... Not much of a surprise anhymore.

Well, now we only have one episode left and, honestly, I don't have much hope for it. But, I'm really curious to know your thoughts on this episode and how you think the last one will go so let me know in the comments and I'll talk to you soon!

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 18 - "The Man in the Yellow Tie"

Hello people!

Here I am, as promised, to talk about another The Flash episode.

You know what?! I actually really enjoyed this episode! Sure, the writers didn't know how to end the episode yet again, but I was actually so invested and truly surprised with a lot of the events that took place in this episode!

This episode starts right where the last one left of - with Barry helping Meena with her speed. However, Barry and Team Flash were still not sure about how she got her speed and if it was safe so Barry went to Meena's lab to see the Biometric Lightning Oscillation Chamber (the BLOC). And that's when the episode hits you with something so unexpected! I saw in the credits that Brandon Routh was going to be in this episode so, when Meena talked about her Team and someone that helped her create the machine, I thought instantly that it was going to be Ray but I was so wrong! The person that helped her and that is currently working with her is none other than Thawne! Thawne with his original face, although this is a version of Thawne that doesn't remember his past or Barry. Of course Barry doesn't buy it and not only threatens this new Thawne but, of course, he goes to Lian Yu again to make sure that the 'real Thawne' is still there, which he is! That, right away, left me so confused but so invested in the remaining of the episode!

Well, I don't know how else to explain this but I guess this Thawne is a version from a different time-line, however, we do find out at the end of the episode, via Ray Palmer, that this is the same Thawne that helped the Legends in that show's last season so... I guess that explains it a little bit. But what really makes Barry believe that this is now the same Thawne that he knows and that he isn't evil is that fact that this Thawne is in love with Meena and did put her well being above his own and that's something that 'evel Thawne' would never do! 

Of course there's a whole thing revolving around the Negative Speed Force and Meena goes rogue for a second but, of course, they 'defeat her' through the power of love... As I said, the writers don't really know how to end story-lines and end episodes so that's one of the downfalls of this episode but I guess, overall, it was a really interesting one.

There's other side plots, one of them involving Cecile and her powers growing which, honestly, wasn't that interesting, but there was something else that was! Remember the Green Lantern box that Diggle found at the end of Arrow?! Well, we have been waiting for so long for Diggle to become the Green Lantern and they finally touch on that just for Diggle to open the box and deciding to stay with his family instead of accepting the powers. That was so unsatisfying! We've waited so long for this story to get somewhere for this?! So anticlimatic!

The episode then ends with Deon approaching Thawne, and telling him that it's time for him to fulfill his destiny. This leaves me a bit conflicted because I love Tom Cavanagh and I want to see more of him and I also know that Thawne is one of the best villains but it's Thawne again. It's getting a little repetitive so... I don't know how to feel about this... I guess let's see where this takes us.

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 17 - "Keep It Dark"

Hello people!

Well, better later than never, right?! And honestly, I don't feel like I missed much by not watching this live and sooner. This was another of those filler episodes that don't give us anything substancial and just shows why the show needs to end. What's new?!

This particular episode really felt like an early draft of the show that The Flash used to be and it really shows that the writers are lost. There's a number of things here that really bothered me, but one of the main issues were the actual characters. It has been really difficult for me to care about this new characters and more and more we are loosing our old beloved characters. For example, this whole episode was about Allegra and, as much as I don't mind her, I'm just not attached to her either. Also, it just feels like the character has become more annoying as the time goes one and I can't understand her motivations. The same goes for Chuck, who was also really prominent in this episode. Although, I do understand his character a bit better I just... Don't really care about him that much. And apart from those two characters, the only other main one here in this episode was Barry, but even Barry was almost a side character and that always bothers me. It's just really apparent that the Barry centered episodes are way more enjoyable and we don't have a lot of those anymore...

Something else that bothered me about this episode, even though it gave us the only cool thing about the episode, was the introduction of a new speedster. I get it, it's The Flash, it's about speed, but aren't they tired of speedsters?! Plus, this new speedster is introduced as a villain and all I could thing was 'Not Again!'. Luckily, it turns out it is not a villain (as of now) and, as I said, this side plot gave us the only exciting thing about this episode - Tom Cavanagh back! I truly miss him and, as much as I was tired of Thawne always being the villain, I kind of miss him as well and I do have to admit that he was one of the few good villains the show as ever had.

Then, the other main plot of the episode was the one revolving around Allegra and her helping Lydia and catching this gang called the Arañas which... Was just boring! They're trying to get us to care about Allegra but it's not working. She made dumb decisions, revealed her superheroe identity to the people working at the Citizen and, overall, was a just a lame plot and the villains were boring as well.

I guess the last thing worth mentioning about this episode is a video that Caitlin sent Team Flash saying that she needs some time away which I don't buy it. I'm pretty sure she's going to keep her experiment and try to bring back Frost which I'm not mad about. As I said previously, this Caitlin story-line is way more interesting to me and, honestly, just something simple. I feel like The Flash has been overly complicated and for no reason because all their plots are weak.

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 16 - "The Curious Case of Bartholomew Allen"

Hello people!

Stuff happened and because of that I wasn't abble to post anything for the past weeks. Honestly, it's going to take some time for me to get all caught up on all the rants I have to write but I'm going to try in the next few days... No promises tho.

With all of that said, as you can expect, I don't remember this episode that well, so I migth skip some things that might be super important to you but, because it has been a while since I've watched it, I don't remember every single aspect of the episode. But from what I remember, I did enjoy this episode!

The main focus was Barry and that is the key, usually, for me to like the episodes. In this one, Barry goes after this guy who stole a gamma absorption array but, in doing so, the bad guy - Pytor Orloff - blasts him with it and Barry starts aging rapidly. 

As the episode goes on, we discover that, the more Barry uses his powers, the more he ages. On one hand that was fun because we can see Barry gettin wrinkles and grey hairs and deal with «old people problems» such as body pain and stuff, which can be fun, but at the same time it starts to become a problem and we start to get worried because we know Barry and he just can't not use his powers to help. It takes a conversation with Cecile (yes, not Joe) to convince him to not use his speed anymore. It was actually a pretty deep conversation and, for once, I felt like Cecile served a purpose.

Without Barry, it's up the remaining of Team Flash to figure out Orloff's plan as well as how to defeat him, and it's Chester who figures that his plan is to absorb the energy from everyone in Central City in order to become immortal. 

Orloff does activate the machine but, of course, Barry is able to stop him and, at the same time, not only reverse Orloff's deaging as well and Barry's aging. And actually, Barry gets even younger than he was before, which was fun as well.

The episode ends with Barry going to check on Caitlin and finding out all the equipment in her apartment and her plan to revive Frost, which he doesn't agree with and, in order to stop Caitlin, he destroys everything in her apartment. I thought that was a bit much, to be honest, and I think he made everything worse. Caitlin is not that type but now she must be mad and must want to do it even more... I know I would so... Let's see were this goes.

I know there's one new episode out already but I havent' seen it yet so no spoilers please. However, I would love to know what you thought about this particular episode so, let me know... Again, I'm sorry for the delay in posts. Until the next one!

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 15 - "Into the Still Force"

Hello people!

Oh, boy... I don't even know where to start with this one.

This episode was so boring! Boring and confusing! I got to be honest - this whole storyline about the Still Force really confuses me. I can understand the speed force, it makes sense, but the still force?! It's way too weird. And for the most part, I can just turn off my brain and go with, but it was impossible in this episode! Everything was about the Still Force and, as the name of the episode says, they went into the Still Force so everything was so confusing to me! Not only that, but I also think that story is pretty boring. I would rather see more of the Caitlin story which, they did give us something in this episode, but it wasn't enough. I'm not very hopefull for that either though... They went in a direction with Mark's character that, initially I liked, but then it felt like they regret what they did and just made him change his mind... I don't know, but I don't like it.

Anyway, as I said, in this episode, Barry goes into the Still Force after finding Iris missing and after going to Tinya for help but with no luck. Then, Deon shows up and tells Barry that Iris is lost in the Still Force and, of course, Barry goes after Iris.

I'm not going to get into much detail because, as I said, everything is really confusing to me but basically Deon betrays Barry and he gets stuck in the Still Force as well. Then, for some reason, Deon drags Nora from 2049 into the Still Force and, somehow, they figure out a way to get out of the Still Force. That's it for this storyline which didn't do anything for the overall plot...

Meanwhile, Kramer brings Chester to analyze a device from an explosion which Chester then figures out is based on some drawings that he came up with and shared online. That makes him start doubting what he his doing online but then he learns that it was made to help people and just went wrong.

The episode ends with Chester's computer being hacked and his files being download by someone.

As I said, not only this episode was confusing but it was also boring and didn't addd anything to the overall story. This is the definition of a filler episode and I'm afraid of what's to come for the remaining of this season - it looks like it's only getting worse.

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 14 - "Funeral for a Friend"

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I'm kind of late with this rant. I did plan on posting it the day after the episode aired but I had a lot on my plate when, honestly, when I didn't, I just felt like resting so... This took a while and I'm sorry for that. However, I do have some nice things to say about this episode!

As you could expect, after the events in the previous episode, this one was all dedicated to Frost. It actually got quite sad and I felt really sorry for basically all the characters! They did try to push some stuff that didn't really work for me, such as Allegra and Chester's relationship (which have been hinting at for so damn long) and how they were fighting because they were trying to mask their sadness... That was a bit much but everything else felt really believable to me - mostly Barry, Mark and obviously Caitlin.

There's a small villain that is introduced in this episode, but that's basically just to show that Team Flash is really struggling to the point that they can't focus and aren't able to work together and catch this new villain.

Something really touching about this episode was Barry's part on all of this - he decided to complete every item of Frost's bucket list which, for Barry, it was quite easy to do most of them. Still, it was interesting to see not only what she wanted to do but also Barry going through all of it as well as all the emotions.

Caitlin's part in the episode though was the hardest one to watch. They decided to use a Billie Eilish song during a montage of Caitlin just packing Frost's stuff and that was so sad! Also, Caitlin is refusing to go to Frost's funeral because that will make things more real and that was also so sad! Of course, in the end, she goes and gives a beautiful speech.

And lastly, the episode ends with a cliffhanger that it's not really a cliffhanger because I don't believe that will happen but, basically, Caitlin takes Mark to her apartment and tells him that she wants to bring Frost back to life! Oh, and there's also a little thing with Iris vanishing so... Now we have two things to deal with... Again!

As I said, this was a really touching episode and, because of that, I don't think they'll bring Frost back. They wouldn't have a whole episode dedicated to her to just bring her back two episodes later. What I do believe will happen is that Caitlin will get Frost's powers but either turn bad or get sick or something... Unfortunately, I think this is the end of Frost which is so sad! She was one of the few characters I still liked in the show... Oh well, at least Mark is still around - I really curious to see where they take his character.

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 13 - "Death Falls"

Hello people!

Can you believe that I actually liked this episode?! That's right, this week's episode of The Flash was actually a good one... In a way... It had such a sad ending though!

Everything about this episode caught me off guard! Not only I wasn't expecting to like it this much and to be so into it, but I also didn't expect that ending! I'm just going to say it... They killed off Frost! Can you believe that?! I mean, a lot of people have been saying that Caitlin was going to die but I highly doubted that, and honestely I didn't see anyone dying this soon (not even Iris) let alone Frost of all people! On top of that, they had to make me like Frost even more in this episode - that whole thing with Mark was so cute!

Actually, this whole episode was a surprise - starting with the beginning. Remember that Eddie thing that happened at the end of last episode?! Well, turns out that was due to Deathstorm as well... We knew this whole episode would be about Deathstorm tricking Team Flash into seeing their dead loved ones but I actually never thought he would target Iris because she has been so out of the whole Deathstorm storyline... She has her own issues and I honestely thought Eddie appearing was due to her time sickness, but no... Deathstorm wanted Caitlin to get everyone's grief in order to speed the process to become his bride so he went after everyone - Allegra with Esperanza, Chuck with his dad, Barry with his mum and Iris with Eddie.

That then starts a whole thing with Frost, where Deathstorm tells her that no one appears to her because she's not a 'real person' and that she can't feel grief. Obviously we know that's not true and it's Mark who makes Frost see that. The reason why no one appears to her is because she has burried her grief so much and she hasn't let herself feel it. That's when she actually feels the grief and the sadness about this whole situation with Caitlin that's when Frost becomes Hellfrost! (People mocked that name but I actually liked it).

Post that, they lure Deathstorm and Hellfrost manages to defeat Deathstorm and absorb his grief. It looked way too easy to me and I was kind of bummed that Deathstorm wasn't the villain for the remaining of the season but, as people told me on twitter, they're addapting three graphic novels in this season and this is the end of the second one so... I guess it makes sense. Still, I wanted more out of this villain - one of the best The Flash has ever had!

Anyway, the only thing left to happen is... Frost's actual death... She passes out after the fight with Deathstorm and Barry takes her to STAR Labs but they can't do anything and she ends up dying. Caitlin and Barry let the remaining of Team Flash know and they all break down in grief (Caitlin's reaction was actually so sad... I felt that!).

In hindsight, I guess it makes sense that, after all this storyline about grief, that someone actually dies... I just didn't want it to be Frost. I didn't want it to be Caitlin either so... I don't know... It's just really sad...

The Flash | Season 8 Episode 12 - "Death Rises"

Hello everyone!

Back with a new The Flash rant and... honestly, I don't have a lot to say.

I was supposed to post this yesterday, I know, but I wasn't feeling very well, but when I thought about writing the post, I had no idea what happened in the episode. It's crazy because I didn't hate it, but I guess it was just a really forgettable episode. I spoke with a few people on twitter during my live tweeting and I mentioned that the next episode looked like a filler episode (just like this one) and people disagreed that this was a filler episode because it was about Deathstorm which it is true but I felt like it didn't really move the plot that much.

This episode started right where the last one left off, with Deathstorm attacking Caitlin and Barry going to her rescue just to end up not affecting Deathstorm in the slightest. This then led to Deathstorm going on a killing spree and then Kramer sending the CCPD to protect everyone out on the streets. That was actually a really interesting thing that happened in this episode because I feel like, most of the time, the police doesn't do the smart thing, which wasn't the case this time.

Without any other plans, Barry realizes that Cecile's powers might help them track Deathstorm which... honestely, was a really lame plot device. I don't want to be harsh but Danielle Nicolet just isn't good at playing villains (heck, I'm starting to realize that she's not really that good overall - that, or it is what it's given to her that is complete trash) so, when Deathstorm possesses her, it just seemed so fake...

However, with all of this, and with another thing that happens to Allegra, we find out that Deathstorm doesn't want to harm Cailin, on the contrary - he wants to make her his bride but she isn't ready yet.

Team Flash then deduces that Ronnie's grief was transported away by the singularity, and that it's been travelling for years. I know, it's a lot to understand and I don't even understand it myself but I guess, in a way, Deathstorm is Ronnie... Or at least, part of him...

Post that, of course they come up with some type of device that I'm not going to attempt to explain that might harm Deathstorm, and Frost volunteers to harness it. That's how this plot ends for this episode, but there's something else going on - the Iris storyline.

Yes, I know, I had forgotten about it myself but something actually happened in this episode. Iris returns. Turns out, her time sickness pulled her into the Still Force and saved her. However, it infected Deon, which prevents him from seeing Iris' future and, in the end, even makes him vanish! On top of that, later that night Eddie appears in her apartment - and that's how the episode ends.

As you can see not a lot happened. I mean, the Iris storyline had some major things happening but, honestly, the Deathstorm storyline is way more interesting to me... I have no idea if both stories will intertwine in the future but, as of now, this looks like a way out for Candice Patton to leave the show... That's just my opinion. Grant Gustin almost didn't sign for the next season and we all know that the next season will most likely be the last one and, with so many actors leaving, it's safe to assume that Candice might be the next one... We'll see.
