The Flash | Season 8 Episode 5 - "Armageddon, Part 5"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello!

Here we are with the final part of the crossover and... it was a bummer... Compared to the last episode, this was pretty bad and, overall, it wasn't much better.

The thing with this last part is that it felt really unnecessary. For once, I don't even know why they got Mia mixed with all of this (I guess it was a way to tie some loose ends from the canaries spin-off that never happened), and then, having Thawne almost die and not kill him once and for all was really a missed opportunity. I get it - they probably want to leave the door open for Tom to comeback for a finale or something but c'mon! They have recycled the Reverse Flash story-line so many times it was time to be over with it and I think that was their intent with this crossover, but it can't really be over until Thawne is dead. And then, finally, the worst thing about this episode was having Despero still around... There was no need for him to be 'the bad guy'...

Basically, this last episode revolved around Thawne being erased from the timeline and Team Flash debating if they should or shouldn't save him. Yes, it was way too much time for that simple story-line. And a lot of things came out of nowhere, such as Caitlin's hatred for Thawne. I do understand where she's coming from, but it looked like it came out of nowhere. And she was basically the one to push everyone into letting Thawne die. As they were all agreeing on that, Joe throws a tantrum and says Barry isn't a hero if he let's Thawne die and that kind of pissed me off, to be honest. And well, in the end, they decide to not kill him. However, Despero still thinks he needs to die in order for Armageddon not to happen (even if their plan - removing Thawne's speed - would prevent it from happening anyway).

So, Despero mind controls Mia, who attacks Team Flash and, as per usual, they use their words to get her to get back to herself and... Yeah, really boring stuff. In the end, Barry drains Thawne's speed and sends him to ARGUS.

And, in order to tie some more loose ends, Iris informs Mia of an organization who may be responsible for Williams' capture (what we saw in the Canaries Pilot). We also see Damian Darhk giving Joe his Time Stone before he disappears and is replaced by his daughter Nora. The episode ends with the timeline changing and Bart and Nora Allen appearing in a CCPD photograph from 2014.

As you can see, pretty boring stuff. It really feels like they were trying to fit in Mia in this crossover and it didn't really work because she was pointless here. Everyone else, even though a few people here in for just a few minutes, I can understand and they make sense, but not Mia. Plus, it really felt like the 'Armageddon' story-line was done last episode and this was really a stretch.

Anyway, new episodes are back in 2022 so, in the meantime, let me know what you thought of this episode as well as this crossover overall and I'll see you in my next rant!

Love,

Daniela.

Arrow | Season 8 Episode 10 - "Fadeout"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everybody!
Yes, the time has come. We have to say goodbye to Arrow. I took some time with this post, not because I was dealing with the end of the show, but because I had other stuff going on because, the truth is, I'm pretty happy with how the series ended. The episode did not have a story-line, that is the truth, but it's fine because we got the happy ending that we wanted (at least, I did) and really, overall, it was just an homage to the whole show and I loved that.
I also filmed my reaction to the episode and the video is up on my channel (youtube.com/danixinhahhh) so, feel free to check it out.
This last episode of the show really was a memory lane of all that makes the series great, starting with flashbacks. I'm not sure if there were new flashbacks or if we has seen them before (I'm pretty sure we did) but we saw something from when Oliver was only working with Diggle and going after the names on his father's list. That thing ties with the present, when one of those guys that Oliver killed, now, in this new universe, is alive and ends up kidnapping young William, who ends up being saved by older Mia who is invited to Oliver's funeral by Sara. And that is the main focus of the whole episode - Oliver's Funeral.
The Funeral sparks a lot of comebacks and, since Oliver rebooted the Universe, basically all the characters are alive - Tommy, Quentin, Moira... Among with those cameos, at Oliver's Funeral were also Nyssa, Talia, Rory (Ragman) and, of course, the ones that have been in Oliver's life recently - Diggle, Lyla, Dinah, Laurel (Earth-2 Laurel), Rene, Thea, Roy and, of course, Felicity.
But speaking of Thea and Roy, probably my favorite part of the episode, was that Roy proposed to Thea and she said yes! I was so happy with that! Really! It never crossed my mind (I was way too focused on Olicity) but I loved that moment and I'm so happy for them!
Back to the Funeral, I forgot to mention that Barry and Kara also attended the Funeral, which was really sweet. I mean, I don't care much about Kara, but Barry had to me there! Barry and Oliver are probably my favorite bromance and Barry was there when Oliver died so he had to be at the Funeral. Also, I loved when Felicity said that she knew that Barry did everything he could because she knows him. That was so sweet! And, of course, we have to talk about Felicity!
You all know that Felicity is my favorite character on the show and this finale wouldn't be the same without her, mainly, because of that very last scene!
In the very end, we see a flashback from last season, when Felicity goes with The Monitor to where Oliver was and, in this episode, we see where she went. They basically say it's the Afterlife, which probably means they are both dead, but they also mention that Oliver kind of still is the Spectre, which might mean that he's looking after all the other characters and I like to think that way and I like to think that Oliver and Felicity are living happily, wherever they are. And that is basically how the series ends. Olicity together! That was as close to an happy ending as we could get so I'm really happy with that!
But, before I end this post, I just wanted to touch on some other things that they mentioned about the other characters. 1) Rene is still running for Mayor (as we saw in the flash-forwards) 2) Dinah leaves Star City and that's probably how the events of the last episode end up happening and 3) the thing that we've been waiting for - Diggle as Green Lantern! Okay, it doesn't exactly happen but, as he's leaving with Lyla and the kids to Metropolis, he sees a meteor crash and finds a box containing an object emitting a green light, which can only mean one thing - Green Lantern. Also, he's moving to Metropolis and the Superman and Lois TV show is going to happen so... Is Diggle going to be on that?! I sure hope so because I want to see him as Green Lantern.
But yeah, I guess that's it for Arrow.
I'm really sad that one of my favorite series (another one, actually) has ended (and Supernatural is the next one) but I liked this ending and, unlike TVD, this was an happy ending so... I'm happy.
Let me know what you thought of Arrow's season finale. Did you like the ending? Or you didn't care about Olicity? Tell me everything and I'll see you (pretty soon) with a new rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 8 Episode 2 - "Welcome to Hong Kong"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
Finally, here it is, the Arrow rant (The Flash coming up next)!
I have to say, I'm quite sad that I didn't get to watch this live because it was such a great episode! Just as in episode 1, we had the comeback of a few characters and I have to say, I had no idea this people were coming back and I was fairly happy with it. This episode kind of focused a lot on flash-forwards as well but I didn't mind them that much this time. I liked the interactions between JJ and Connor and I guess that's why I liked the flash-forwards this time a bit better.
As for present day we are back to Earth-1, but in Hong Kong this time. Oliver's new mission is to pick up Dr. Robert Wong, who we learn latter in the episode that was forced to recreate the Alpha/Omega Virus. Diggle joined Oliver in this mission (as I suppose he will do in every mission) but Laurel wants to get back to Earth-2, not wanting to believe what Oliver tells her. Unfortunately, the breach device is broken so he goes look for someone to fix it.
Oliver and Diggle go after Dr. Wong but, of course, it can't go right the first time and so they are attacked by Triad members and that's when we get our first comeback - Tatsu (aka Katana), who 'saves them' as well help them find the Doctor, also letting Oliver and Diggle know that she knows who the Monitor is.
Oliver ends up locating Wong but, again, as he's about the 'get' him, China White appears (our next 'comeback') and kidnaps the Doctor. Luckily, Oliver is able to get a sample of the Alpha/Omega Virus and so is able to make a change - the Virus for the Doctor - and so he arranges a meeting with China. Again, things don't really go as planned and China ends up stabbing Tatsu. Luckily, Black Siren appears and they are able to save Tatsu as well as get an old on Dr. Wong. Then, the episode ends with the reveal that Lyla, who also helped in this mission, is working with the Monitor. I can't really say this was a surprise because it was announced that she would play Harbinger and there's photos of her with the Monitor (set photos) so... This wasn't exactly a surprise but I'm intrigued and I can't wait to see where this goes.
As for the flash-forwards it's basically what I told you before - Connor, Mia and Zoe go to a black market when JJ is planning to make a sale while William stays behind, in the bunker, to repair a device obtained by the Deathstroke Gang. Of course this is a decoy and by the end they learn that the Deathstroke Gang has the bunker surrounded and... We don't really know what happens to William. And that's basically it.
I know I didn't say much but I truly liked this episode! Just like the first one I love all the references and the overall feel of previous seasons. This was majorly 'inspired' by Season 3 which wasn't exactly my favorite but I liked the whole Ra's Al Ghul thing so, let's see where this goes in the next episode. From what I've heard it's going to get 'inspiration' from Season 3 and 4 so, let's see.
In the meantime let me know what you thought of the episode and which are your predictions for the rest of the series. I can't believe we only have 8 episodes left... I'm starting to get sad.
Anyway, tell me everything and I'll see you pretty soon with The Flash and Supernatural's rants.
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 8 Episode 1 - "Starling City"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
Arrow is back for it's final season and, just like with Supernatural, it's a bittersweet feeling. I'm super stoked with this season (and after this episode I am even more) but it's the last one and I've been reviewing the series since season 4 (since I started following it properly) - that is a long time and seeing everything end always makes you a little sad.
But before it ends we have 10 episodes, starting with this one so let's get into it!
This season is all about the Crisis that is going to happen on episode 8 (at least, for Arrow is episode 8) and there's no real villain this season, which is a huge change! Personally, so far, I think it's turning out great! Also, alongside with that, this season is also a love letter to the fans and just a walk through memory lane with references to previous season and the come back of a lot of characters. This particular episode is all about Season 1 and we see come back not only Moira and Malcolm (as we see in the picture) but also Tommy, who has been in previous seasons, but just as an illusion inside Oliver's mind, and, my personal favorite, Adrian Chase is also back in this episode, with a great entrance, to be honest!
It took me a little to understand where all this fits in and what really was happening but turns out Oliver went to Earth-2 to get something that The Monitor wanted in regards to the Crisis - something that was only on Earth-2. The thing is, Oliver ends up in Lian-Yu and he has to do the same trajectory he did in Season 1, where he is found and goes back home basically to the same moment that was in the first season. The thing is, some things are different - Moira and Malcolm are married, Thea is dead and Adrian Chase is the Hood (aka Green Arrow). Also, Adrian is working with Laurel (aka Black Siren) who knows right away that this is Oliver from another Earth and, just like in Season 1, there's a Dark Archer but this time it isn't Malcolm, it is Tommy. The fight between Oliver and Tommy is pretty great as well as all the other fights in this episode, as they always are to be honest.
There was not much to it, to be completely fair, but this whole memory lane thing was so great and I truly loved it.
Unfortunately they had to mess it up with flash-forwards which were completely useless and I really believe they could've cut them of and just focus on the 'present day' and everything to do with the Crisis.
Anyway, this are my thoughts on Arrow's last season premiere. Let me know what you thought of it and I'll be back soon with The Flash's rant (which kind of ties to Arrow, as all this series do this season).
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 21 - "Living Proof"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
Well... It might be a brand new week of rants but... I'm not that happy with how it is starting.
It's really sad to say this at this time (since next episode is the Season Finale) but this episode was pretty boring. I was really excited after last week's episode because, even though I predicted most of what happened, and even though they basically wasted an whole episode just to let us know about Roy's situation, I really enjoyed the whole thing and, unfortunately, that didn't happen in this episode. Yes, there were some nice moments but... There was something about this episode that really put me off. I wanna say that it is mainly Emiko that just doesn't work for me as a villain but maybe it's also the fact that the flash-forwards were back and, if you can remember, last week's episode didn't have any flash-forwards and maybe that's the real issue not only in this episode but in this whole season.
I'm going to step away from this episode just for a minute but I really need to talk about this.
I was one of the people that was enjoying the flash-forwards in the beginning. I thought that it was really clever that they changed the flash-backs, which were one of the things that Arrow was known for, for flash-forwards, and I thought that was really cool. But as soon as they introduced Mia and as soon as we got to know everything, they stopped being cool and exciting. I think most of it is because they kill the suspense in the 'present day' - we already know who lived (and basically who died) so, even if something happens to them in the present, we know everything's going to be fine in the end (or not, depends on the character). So, overall, I think this season was just full of mistakes. It started out pretty great with the introduction of flash-forwards, Oliver in prison but, ever since Oliver got out of prison, everything went downhill and I'm really sad about that because Arrow is my favorite superhero show.
Anyway, now that I vented everything that I had to vent, let's really talk about the episode.
Like I said, I was pretty excited about this episode because everyone's life was at risk (even though we know most of them would survive) and, I don't know, I just know that I was excited about it and the episode even surprised right in the beginning when we saw Tommy. Yes, we knew that it was just a fragment of Oliver's mind or something but, nonetheless, it was a good surprise and something that I really wasn't expecting (since I'm pretty much always up to date with news and stuff). And that was one of the things that saved this episode.
Another thing that was great in this episode, and not trying to be biased, was Roy. Yes, we have Roy in the future but, for some odd reason, having Roy in the present is way better (maybe I just don't like the people he's interacting with in the future *cough*Mia*cough*). Something else that I need to mention (and not trying to be biased again) but I loved the talk between Dinah and Roy. I loved that Dinah haters basically got what they wanted with her saying sorry and everything and, I don't know about you, but I felt something there. Don't get me wrong, I love Thea and Roy but... I don't know, it never really crossed my mind but, after seeing them talking I got some type of vibe and now I really ship Dinah and Roy. And, to be completely fair, we don't know what happened between him and Thea because he's clearly not with her in the future so... He might still have a thing with Dinah?! Please, tell me I'm not the only one! (But maybe if I am, I don't care, I'm going to keep shipping them).
Well, I've talked about everything apart from the central point of this episode which was Oliver coming to his senses and basically not wanting to kill Emiko, which I don't really agree with but I get it. He has been working so hard to not kill again and to screw everything for that b*tch... Yeah...
Needless to say that Team Arrow is able to save Oliver in time and go after Emiko.
Meanwhile, Felicity and Alena (who is helping her) are confronted by Emiko in the bunker and, only when Felicity reveals that she's pregnant that she 'gives up' and leaves (but not before stealing some stuff).
Post that, Emiko poses as Oliver and attacks the SCPD. Team Arrow go after her and Oliver has the chance to kill her but he decides not to do so and she escapes.
In the flash-forwards we see future Alena who we find out was the one to sell Archer to Galaxy One (not really surprised, we all knew that). William and Rene are also caught by the head of Galaxy One and Galaxy One also finds the rest of the future Team, and that's basically it.
The truth is, either way this ends, I don't really care?! I'm really sad to say this but it's the truth. Emiko doesn't do for as a villain and we know that most of the team is alive in the future so... I'm just curious to know how are they going to write Felicity off because, in the present day, they're probably going to send her away to raise Mia but in the future? I have no idea so, that's basically the only thing that I'm curious about. I hope they surprise me though (let's hope so).
Let me know what you thought and if you are excited for the season finale or if you're like me and don't care that much.
I'll see you in my next rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 20 - "Confessions"

Spoiler Alert!

Hi guys and welcome back to a brand new week of rants!
I'm actually pretty stoked to talk about this new Arrow episode because I kind of enjoyed it. I say 'kind of' because it was bit of mixed feelings. On one hand I really enjoyed myself while watching this but, on the other, this was way too predictable that I called the whole thing in the first 5 minutes. Nonetheless, it was great to shut up some people that were talking sh*t about Dinah (on twitter, I mean).
So, this whole episode basically plays backwards. We begin with a few scenes from the present and those scenes intertwine with scenes from the past, and then, it's pretty much your typical 'murder mystery' where you have to find out who killed a certain people. But, because there's always a twist in those movies, I knew something was up with this whole thing I called it in the first 5 minutes, that this was all part of a plan. Most people didn't realize it because they were too fed up with Dinah trying to blame Team Arrow for what happened and, in one way, the writers did great because Dinah have always been the one to doubt Team Arrow but again, I called because I've always defended Dinah and I knew this wasn't her, not anymore.
But I've talked too much before actually getting into the plot so, let's talk about it.
Like I said, Team Arrow is being blamed for killing two guards and so, Dinah and Sergeant Bingsley interrogate each and every Team Arrow member. In the mix of all of that, we learn that they asked Roy for help, which was so nice and I was so happy about.
The Team prevents the Ninth Circle from releasing their biological weapon but that's when they find the two guards dead. After the questioning about this, they blame it on Emiko and they are free, since their stories line up, and that's when we learn that this was all a story that they worked out together. It is also revealed that Roy was the one that killed the guards and that's when a lot of things make sense. Turns out, Roy died battling the Thanatos Guild and was then revived by Thea and Nyssa with a Lazarus Pit, and that's where all the blood lust and rage comes from. A bunch of people on twitter also guessed this so, props to them!
Post that, Felicity locates the Ninth Circle's headquarters, where Oliver confronts Emiko, who reveals that she sent the security footage to the SCPD. Emiko also reveals that she had a role on Robert Queen's death and that she plans to destroy Oliver by making in a villain and dying like one. And then, she just blows up the building, burying Oliver and the majority of Team Arrow under it.
This were some shocking things! Yes, I guessed the whole plan thing and yes, the Lazarus thing with Roy was also kind of predictable, but before this episode, I had no idea so I think it was really cool to introduce this. This was also a pretty crazy way to end and episode and I'm really curious to see where they go with this because, not only we are 2 episodes way from the Season Finale, but next Season is going to be the last one. Plus, Emily is leaving this season and we know that she's alive in the future so... I really have no idea how they are going to wrap this season.
Let me know your thoughts on this episode and I'll talk to you Thursday (tomorrow I'm having a Social Media detox so, no The Flash rant tomorrow. I'm still going to live tweet today so, join me).
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 18 - "Lost Canary"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
Here I am, finally, with the Arrow rants (a new one is coming right after this one). I'm not going to waste any time and jump right into my thoughts.
This was an highly anticipated episode and... It kind of fell flat. It started out pretty great with a really nice fight/shot sequence with Black Siren but then... it became kind of boring and yeah, the girls together fighting was pretty cool but that was about it. Plus, they mixed Oliver in this episode with a pretty sh*tty 'story-line' as well as integrated some flash-forwards that didn't really do anything to the story so... This wasn't what we thought it would be. But, for the sake of this rant, I'm going to break it down (but don't expect a lot of commentary, since I already said all that I had to say).
Like I said, this episode begins with Black Siren going rogue again and going looking for a former associate called Shadow Thief.
Meanwhile, Felicity discovers that Emiko framed Laurel, but Dinah informs her that Laurel has gone back to committing crime. Still, Felicity tries to talk Laurel out of it but with no success and that's what makes her call Sara, to help them bring back the 'good' Laurel. The three confront Laurel about what she wants to be and, somehow, something changes inside her head and she turns on Shadow Thief. Of course they win and, post al the fighting, Dinah clears Laurel's reputation by claiming she went undercover. But, although she could go back to her former work, Laurel decides to return to Earth-2 and right her wrongs as Black Canary. And that was it for the 'Birds of Prey' part of the episode.
But, like I said, this episode also tried to fit Oliver and Diggle for some odd reason and they go after some lead about Emiko and find out that Kodiak of the Longbow Hunters was hired by Dante to kill Emiko's mother.
And then, in the flash-forwards, Galaxy One uses a special tech helmet to target the Canary Network and, while the others want to hide, Mia wants to fight back, being the stubborn kid that she is. In the end, Laurel saves Mia from the man in the helmet and tells her to give the helmet to Felicity.
As I said before, this last two parts of the episode really didn't need to be there and maybe the episode would've been so much better if it just focused on the 'Birds of Prey'. I did like the fight scenes and all the bits that had Sara (just to think that I used to hate Sara) but, apart from that, this episode was really empty and... I was expecting more.
Let's hope the next one is better so, keep an eye for that rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 16 - "Star City 2040"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone and here is a brand new week of rants!
It seems like this has been happening a lot lately but, once again, I missed half of last night's episode of Arrow and I had to re-watch it again today. Not that it is a big problem but it just leaves me a bit sad because I like to live tweet during the whole episode. I still live tweeted though, but not in the first half. But anyway, I'm going to stop rambling and really talk about the episode.
Finally it aired! I believe I can say that this was an episode that a lot of people was curious about. Not only because this was just flash-forwards and that is already something pretty unique but also because this was the one that would make us understand everything that we have been seeing (from the flashbacks) and... I have mixed feelings. Overall, the episode was okay and I wasn't that bothered about it being all in the future but, you already know by now but I just don't like Mia. Maybe it's because it's Kat who's playing her and you know that I don't think Kat is a great actress but I believe it is also the actual character of Mia. I prefer William so much! You have no idea! Also, this was an whole episode without Oliver and... I don't know how I feel about that.
Anyway, the episode beginning with a little bit of a background on Mia - we see her training since she was very young and we even see her training with Nyssa (as you can see in the banner) which was a nice touch to the episode. We also see how and why she gets so bitter towards Felicity and that's when we get to what was happening in the flash-forwards, with Mia and William following Felicity's coordinates to Galaxy One. The two are almost caught, but are saved by Connor, who reveals himself as an agent from Knightwatch - the good version of ARGUS, as he says.
Meanwhile, we see Roy, Dinah and Zoe trying to find William and Mia and then being confronted by Rene who tells them the plans of Galaxy One about blowing up Star City.
Back at the headquarters of Galaxy One, Mia, William and Connor enter the building's sub-levels, where they find and imprisoned Felicity, who tells them that the bombs are in the building. They free Felicity and go after the bombs. That's when the whole group reunites, with Roy, Dinah and Zoe and that was one of my favorite scenes. Felicity and Dinah are my favorites so I just loved to see them hug and be friends, which we don't really see in the present day, to be honest. After that, they are also met with Rene who tells them that the bombs are already on-site and that there are no plans to evacuate the city.
The group then infiltrates a party, where Mia destroys an electronic device held by Kevin Dale, the head of Galaxy One, that disables the bombs. This was one of the scenes that was really bittersweet for me. I loved the bond between Felicity and William and the fact that William is also nerdy, and I also loved the fight scene, I just wish it was Oliver instead of Mia, not only because I don't like Mia but also because that would mean that Oliver is alive (which, to be honest, I doubt).
After that, Dale comes up with a new plan to create fear that would enable Galaxy One to take the Archer program global and, after that, we find out Felicity's personal reason for going after Galaxy One - she created Archer. And that's how the episode ended.
In the end, I feel like I had too much faith on this episode. I was hoping that this would make a lot of stuff clearer and it didn't really do that. Plus, it made me hate Mia even more. I don't know... I'm really torn.
Let me know what you thought of the episode. Did you enjoy it? Where you expecting something else? Tell me everything!
I'll see you tomorrow with another rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 15 - "Training Day"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
This week's Arrow rant is a bittersweet one. First of all, I wasn't able to live-tweet during the episode because the hour changed in the US and, as you all know, I'm from Portugal and here the hour will only change in the end of the month, which means I was one hour late for the episode and, therefore, I missed it. And second, this past week we got some heartbreaking news - Season 8 of Arrow will be the last one, and with only 10 episodes (basically ending with the crossover). I can't say I wasn't expecting this, because I kind of was but, you know... I always had hope that the show would go on for a long time (maybe not as much as Supernatural, though) and what made me even more sad is the fact that I can see where they're taking this. With what happened in the last crossover and with the talks about the next one it really looks like they are going to kill Oliver in the end and... It really pains me. I started this blog with three series - The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and American Horror Story - and having two of those series ending... Really breaks my heart (plus, there's rumors that AHS is ending with season 10 so... it means all the series that started this blog, and that are my favorites, are going to be all gone in a couple of years). But, because not everything is bad, I have to say that I really enjoyed this episode. To me, this felt like a turning point in the story (which, in a way, is bad, since we're already in episode 15 and just now things are moving forward).
I feel like I really enjoyed the first part of this season, up until Oliver left prison and, until now, there were really few episodes that really stuck with me. Luckily, this episode was pretty good and I'm liking where this is going. As I said, this felt like a turning point where we ended some story-lines, made sense of others and I just liked the feel of everything overall (it's a bummer I didn't get to live-tweet, really).
One of my favorite things in this episode was the whole thing with the SCPD. In fact, that was the main thing in this episode and I think they made everything look coherent and end nicely. I loved Oliver's attitude in the beginning with really trying to work with the police and when he changed, it made sense. He worked with them, it didn't work and he realized he had to do things his way (or Team Arrow way). But, because there's the whole thing with the anti-vigilante law, they worked out a way to appeal to both parts, a bit of Team Arrow and a bit of SCPD, which was great and I loved the way it ended. To be honest, I don't know why they didn't think of that right away but I guess the Mayor is just really stubborn (I guess she changed her mind though, now).
Something else that I liked, and that I mentioned in the beginning, the episode also tied some loose ends. We understood a bit of how Diggle adopted Connor Hawk (Turner's son), we didn't stay long on the whole thing 'who killed Diaz' and we know that it was Emiko and, surprisingly, I really liked the confrontation between Emiko and Black Siren. I never really trusted Emiko so... We are now seeing her true colors. Now I just wonder why the hell did she kill Diaz?! Does that have something to do with Dante? Did Dante order her to kill him? And, as much as it pains me to say, I'm actually enjoying Black Siren's 'redemption' story. The truth is, everything is making sense in her story and, even though I still stand by the fact that it made Laurel's death a bit pointless, Black Siren's redemption arc has been well developed and I'm liking that.
I also liked the fact that there wasn't much of flash-forwards and that, the little that was, it wasn't too overwhelming and, once again, it made sense. I guess kudos to Emilio Ortega Aldrich and Rebecca Rosenberg because they did an amazing job with the writing of this episode.
Well, I don't think there's much more for me to say. Next episode is going to be the one all about the flash-forwards so, I hope we get a lot of questions answered.
Let me know what you thought of this week's episode and I'll see you guys tomorrow!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 14 - "Brothers & Sisters"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
We are back with the usual programming and we are starting the week with a brand new Arrow episode (plus rant).
Unfortunately, I don't bring good news. I wasn't the biggest fan of this episode for multiple reasons. In the end, it kind of made up for the whole thing but, to be honest, this still wasn't a good episode, which is always a bummer.
The main issue that I had with this episode was the multiple story-lines. There was so much going on and I'm all for everyone having a different story but when you try to fit everyone's story-line in one episode it gets too much.
One of those story-lines in the episode was Emiko and Oliver, which right now looks like the most boring story-line out of all. Yes, in the end we got a 'big reveal' and now I can see everything connected, but it still is really boring and I just want this whole thing to be done with. Then, there's also the flash-forwards, which are also part of the reason why I didn't like this episode.
You all know that I hated the reveal of Mia being Felicity and Oliver's daughter, mainly because she is played by Kat McNamara, and right now, I even hate the whole thing more. Mia really showed herself in this episode and she's extremely stubborn and annoying - the bratty type of annoying. And the thing is, Kat always play those types of characters and she isn't good at playing them, which makes everything worse. I'm not even going to talk more about the flash-forwards because I just didn't like them. I'm really starting to understand why everyone was hating on the flash-forwards.
Well, the last story-line of the episode was really the best one, and I never thought I would say this because I'm talking about Diaz' story-line. I mean, it wasn't all just about Diaz, it also involved the 'Suicide Squad' and who we've always known that was going to be this season's villain - Dante.
Yes, we finally found out who Dante is and, to be honest, it was a bit underwhelming, at least, the 'reveal' of his face. However, his first fight with Oliver was truly something else and, just from that fight we can already tell that he's a better villain that Diaz ever was.
Anyway, a lot stuff happened, to be honest - Diaz has always been on Dante's side but, in the end, Diaz didn't get away and finally someone killed him! Thank God! We still don't know who did it, that's new mystery, but my bet is on Black Siren.
In the end, it's always revealed that Emiko is working with Dante and this whole thing with Oliver is all part of their plan, which was a big shock, to be honest. My theory now is that Dante was the one that killed Emiko's mother and then he 'rescued' her and she started working for/with him.
Let me know your theories on all of this and I guess I'll see you tomorrow with a new The Flash rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 13 - "Star City Slayer"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
As per usual, I'm late with this rant but let's move on and talk about Arrow!
First of all, no, I didn't get that banner wrong. We had a bit of a The Flash crossover in this episode (just that one bit, to be honest) and that's why I used that pic for the banner. Second, I'm not super thrilled about this week's episode. In fact, I'm pretty pissed and, for the first time like ever I really hated an Arrow episode. It was actually fine until the very end of it but the ending really screwed everything for me. But anyway, let's talk about how everything went down.
The episode actually begins with the members of Team Arrow receiving threatening notes and also discovering a similar note at the murder scene of a councilman who previously worked with Ricardo Diaz.
They discovered some type of immobilizing drug in this dead councilman and that's where they started looking for who the murder was. They end up discovering the hiding place of this murderer - the Star City Slayer - and, surprise surprise, it's Stanley! I have to say, I enjoyed this but, at the same time, I wish he would've been a bigger villain or even this season's villain (which we still don't have). From the preview for next episode, and how this one ended, Stanley might still come into place in all this mess but, for now, he's not the main villain.
Anyway, Stanley ends up cutting Dinah's throat but Curtis is able to cauterize the wound and so saving her life.
Post that, Stanley goes to his main target - Oliver. He goes to Oliver and Felicity's house, where they were having dinner with William (Oliver's famous chili) and immobilizes them with the same drug that he used in his other victims. He starts some bullshit speech about how much he cares about Oliver and on how he's the only one that really understands Oliver and... You really see that he has some type of mental problem. He also tells some things about his past and, to be quite honest, I kind of felt for him. I mean, he's a total psycho, but he doesn't really belong in prison but really in an asylum, like his brother said he wanted to put him in. Stanley actually mentioned Arkham Asylum and that was a nice reference.
Well, in the end, Oliver is able to subdue him and Stanley is sent back to Slabside (that's why I still think he might come back).
Throughout all this episode there was also a thing about William and him wanting a normal life. Yes, he was being a brat and actually Oliver called him out on that, which I really enjoyed but, in the end, Oliver realized that he can't ever give him a normal life so William goes to live with his grandparents (in Central City, by the way, which I thought was funny).
Besides William, someone else also left the city - Curtis. We kind of already knew that something was up with Curtis because he wasn't part of the tattoo thing and now we understood what happened. He got offered a job in DC and he took it, not liking what he was doing at ARGUS anymore. I'm sad to see Curtis go because I liked his character but at least he's not dead and he can always come back.
And, when someone leaves a new one comes so... In the very end of the episode we learn that Felicity is pregnant! Actually, I was thrilled about this! Who doesn't want an Oliver and Felicity baby?! I got really excited! Until I found out who's their daughter... freaking Blackstar aka Mia Smoak.
I was so pissed about that! In case you didn't know, I really didn't want Kat on Arrow. After seeing her on Shadowhunters you know how I feel about her acting so I really didn't want her in one of my favorite shows, but then I was okay with it because she was only part of the flash forwards and she was barely in the show so... It was fine. But now?! Finding out she's Felicity and Oliver's daughter?! It really pissed me off! I'm sorry to everyone who likes her, I like Kat as well, but I just think she's a bad actress and Mia as a character is also awful! Ugh, I'm going to stop now because I'm making myself really angry.
So, let me know what you thought about all this reveals and please tell me I'm not the only one feeling like this towards Mia and Kat and everything.
We're going to have to wait until March for a new episode so, I'll see you in my next The Flash rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 12 - "Emerald Archer"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys and welcome to a new week of rants!
We're starting in a good note with such an amazing episode of Arrow!
This episode was special for a lot of reasons! Not only it was pretty amazing, but it also was episode 150 of the show, which is a big landmark (and we are getting a few more episodes because CW just announced that Arrow was renewed for Season 8, which is amazing!). Because this was episode 150, they wanted it to feel different so this episode was in a documentary style, which was pretty dope! The episode wasn't actually all documentary style, which I thought it would be, but to be honest, I wish it would've been because I think it would make it even more interesting. Nonetheless, it was a pretty different and special episode with a lot to be happy about, one of them being the special appearances!
We had so many special guests in this episode! Because this was a documentary about Vigilantes, they talked with basically everyone that is related to Oliver so, not only Felicity, Diggle, Dinah and all the people that we have been seeing in the past seasons but also characters that have left quite some time ago such as Sara Lance, Thea and even Ragman, which we haven't seen in a long time! My favorite special appearance though was Barry (The Flash)! You know that I'm a sucker for Oliver and Barry together and, even though we didn't have them together in this episode, it was nice to have Barry be part of the Arrow (where he actually first appeared) as well as part of Oliver's documentary. This also made us see how different The Flash and Arrow are as shows, which I always appreciate.
William was also back for this episode and we are getting close to make sense of all the things that are happening in the Flash-Forwards. We see that William have been rebelling and that, actually, he was expelled from school (for what we don't know yet) and we also had a pretty interesting scene with William and Zoe, something that we haven't really seen before (just in flash-forwards) and where he kind of hints that he's gay.
Something that I really enjoyed about this episode were the Diggle and Oliver scenes. The truth is, they haven't been together much lately and they actually talk about that in the episode, where Diggle says that it's been basically a year since they've worked together. But this episode changed that and not only we saw Oliver and Diggle working together, but we also saw Team Arrow working all together, including Felicity, Rene and Curtis!
Obviously, because this wasn't just a documentary episode, we also had a bad guy that is going after vigilantes and that Team Arrow had to deal with.
Oh, I would also like to mention that I really liked Dinah in this episode! You know that I love Dinah but in the beginning of the season she wasn't really the Dinah that I liked but in this episode she got back to her old self and I really loved her during all this episode! And mainly in the ending when, after Team Arrow is caught (because vigilantism is still illegal) she basically says she will no longer be Captain if her friends go to prison (and Oliver basically does the same). That's when the Mayor tells them that, without them, she would've been dead so she's promoting all of them to work in the SCPD and yeah, that's basically it.
I really really liked this episode! Most of the time the episodes are just 'okay' but this one was really good and I'm so happy about that! Let me know your thoughts on this 150th episode and I'll see you tomorrow with a new The Flash rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 11 - "Past Sins"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
Yes, a little late (as usual) but, if you follow me on twitter, you already knew that this was coming a little late today. Oh, and in case you didn't know, follow me on twitter (@danixinhahhh) because I always post there when I can't post or when the post is going up a little late.
So, about Arrow... This episode, I would say, was neutral for me. There wasn't anything that I really hated (maybe one thing) but there wasn't really anything special about it either so... I don't really know what to think about it.
The episode starts actually pretty good, with Black Siren and Oliver giving an interview about being vigilantes with their identity revealed, and I liked that. But then, I guess it was downhill.
First, there was a story-line involving Black Siren and a stalker that, apparently, came back from Earth-2. That story-line was pretty weak, in my opinion. Not only I don't really care about Black Siren, but pretty soon it was revealed that her stalker had already died so... It did give a good ending to the episode though, with Dinah also getting a note from Black Siren's same stalker which means, it wasn't the guy from Earth-2 that Black Siren suspected.
Then, there's the ARGUS story-line.
At first, I was actually enjoying that story-line. I mean, in the really beginning of the season I just thought it was pointless but after the whole thing with Diaz and the ghost program I was getting excited. That is, until we see Diaz escape and killing Curtis in the process. I was so mad when I saw that. Plus, that cut to commercial what really made me mad and sad at the same time. When we got back to the episode, it was revealed that Diaz was actually in a controlled hallucination brought on by Curtis with the intent of getting information out of Diaz and so, nothing that happened before really happened, which I thought was pretty clever. That part of the episode surprised me so, congrats on that!
And then there's the third story-line which is basically about Oliver's dad security's son. Basically the SCPD is attacked and we find out that the 'villain' is the son of one of the men from the Queen's Gambit, who Oliver's dad killed so that Oliver could survive. It's the basic revenge story which, obviously ends with the guy in prison.
Of course this was all a way to make Emiko realize that Oliver isn't Robert, which she does in the end, going to Oliver and telling him that she's going to think about starting to talk, which is already something. And that's basically it.
Like I said, there wasn't anything major in this episode. I don't care about Black Siren, the Diaz story-line is getting really annoying, the 'villain of the week' wasn't anything special and I still don't know if I like Emiko or not. The only good parts for me where the hallucination, which was really clever, and the note that Dinah got in the end of the episode. That left me really curious so... Let's see where this goes.
From what we can see until now, this season still doesn't have a villain so... Let me know your theories on that. I would say that Dante might be bigger than we think but... I don't know. We don't know much about him.
For now that's it. I'll see you guys next with a new The Flash rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 10 - "My Name Is Emiko Queen"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys and welcome to the mid-season premiere of Arrow!
Unfortunately, this time, I wasn't able to watch the episode live. Still, I managed to watch it today and so, as usual, I'm here to talk about it.
This episode left me a bit conflicted because, although I liked it, and there were some parts that I really did enjoy, there was also parts that got me really confused and I don't know how I feel about those, for example, the direction that the flash forwards are taking. Also, I didn't enjoy Emiko's character that much and I guess that's going to be a pain in the ass because, from the looks of it, it seems like she's going to be an huge part of the show from now one. But anyway...
As you can suspect by the title of the episode, basically everything revolves around Emiko and I really enjoyed the opening scene, with Oliver beginning his work with SCPD and finding blood belonging to the new vigilante.
Post that, Oliver takes the blood to Felicity, in a way to speed up the process, so she can find out who it belongs to. That's when Felicity reveals that the blood belongs to a woman (which was also a nice touch, saying that they were being a bit sexist) named Emiko, who is Oliver's biological sister as she shares his father's DNA.
This whole thing brings back some memories and some conflict inside Oliver, who begins to doubt if he ever truly knew his father. And that's basically what we see of Oliver in this episode.
Then, we move on to Emiko and really get to know the character.
We see her going to Rene for help after being injured in her quest for justice. We learn the whole thing about how Oliver's dad left them and how Emiko's mum was killed by someone - that someone being the person that Emiko is going after. This being kind of dangerous (it always is dangerous), Rene offers to fight alongside her and then brings Curtis to help them. In the end, they find out that the guy that Emiko thought killed her mum wasn't really who killed her and so we see her frustrated and beginning a new 'quest'.
The last main story line of the episode revolves around Diaz. Right away I got annoyed with this whole thing. I just wanted Diaz to be gone but, to be honest, I kind of liked the outcome of this. So, turns out, Diaz was taken into ARGUS custody in a way to get some information about Dante (I can't remember who that is but... anyway). As you can imagine, Diaz doesn't want to cooperate. That is, until Diggle offers him a deal - he gives Dante's real name (or whatever) and he goes free. I couldn't believe what I was hearing but then Diggle let us know the whole thing - Diaz gets into the Ghost Program - that whole thing where the bad guys get a bomb implanted in their neck. That I did like so... I'm kind of interested to see where this goes.
And, in the very end we see Emiko visiting her mother's grave, where she is confronted by Oliver.
It was a good way to finish the episode and it left me waiting for more.
What didn't leave me waiting for me was the whole flash forward with Rene being mayor of the Glades. It got me really confused so... I don't know what to think about that.
Okay, that's it for today guys. Let me know what you thought of the episode and I'll see you tomorrow with a new The Flash rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 9 - "Elseworlds, Part 2"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
Here I am with part two of this years big crossover - Elseworlds. And no, I didn't get it wrong, this is the Arrow rant, with a Reverse Flash banner.
So, as I suspected, this second episode wasn't as strong as the first one. For some odd reason, in the crossovers, I never enjoy the Arrow episode that much, even though Arrow is my favorite series out of the DCTV Universe. However, it did have some major points that I really appreciated and, just like I predicted yesterday, this episode did have Felicity and more of the Arrow characters, even though I did miss Dinah, Rene and those characters in the episode. Hopefully they'll be in the last part. Someone that I also missed in this episode, and that I predicted that he wasn't going to be in it is Ralph. Because this is the Arrow episode, it was expected to have more Arrow characters and less The Flash characters, the reverse of the first episode, and that was exactly what happened. I'm not mad though, I already expected it. In the end, I'm just happy that Ralph was in the crossover and maybe they will all be in the last one (fingers crossed).
Right away I need to start with the very beginning of the episode - you know, that 'previously' part. I loved what they did with this episode because they basically replaced Stephen Amell for Grant Gustin (just like the story of the crossover demands) and Grant even narrated the events as Oliver and I loved that! It was something that I really wasn't expecting and that really got me going for the rest of the episode.
Then, we see Diggle and Curtis dealing with some bad guy (I can't remember his name) and that's when Oliver, Barry and Kara show up in Star City. The three of them help Diggle and Curtis deal with the situation and then I loved Diggle's line where he said that, every time the three of them show up, it means something is very wrong with the world! Loved that!
Post that, they go to ARGUS in order to get some help from Curtis and Felicity about the whole thing that his happening (the red skies and lightning) and that's when we learn that Felicity doesn't know anything about Barry and Oliver switching 'bodies', and so that's why she wasn't really in the previous episode. After having her help, Kara, Barry and Oliver set off to Gotham and I just have to mention that Oliver doesn't really believe in Batman and I just loved that he said that he was the first vigilante and blah blah blah... I loved jealous Oliver!
In Gotham City, they are approached by some thefts and end up in jail, which was funny.
Back in Star City, Felicity realizes that what is happening isn't really something that they're used to dealing with so she calls Cisco and Caitlin for help and that's when Cisco just tells what is going on - Cisco being Cisco. Felicity gets really sad that Iris was able to realize that something was wrong and she didn't and that's when we have a really heartfelt conversation between Caitlin and Felicity. Not only that talk was so sweet but it was in that moment that I realized we never really had many moments between Caitlin and Felicity, and I really enjoyed it. Also, this conversation really make this feel like an Arrow episode - Arrow and it's meaningful conversations.
After that, the thing that probably most people were excited about finally happened - the appearance of Batwoman (or should I say Kate Kane). We don't really get a lot into her character but we learn that she's basically in charge of the building that was Bruce's, we also learn that she's Bruce's cousin and, actually, I really liked the Easter Egg there, when Kara and Kate are talking and Kara says that her cousin (Superman) is kind of friends with Kate's cousin (Batman) and the she says 'more like 'frenemies' which was a pretty clear reference to the Batman vs Superman movie which, despite what everyone says, I really liked.
Kate helps them find the guy that has the book as well as, at the same time, The Flash from another Earth is able to breach for a few seconds to our Earth is tells something to Felicity, Cisco, Caitlin and Diggle. Post that, Cisco, Caitlin and Diggle breach to Gotham, where the rest of the Team is and they work on a plan to get inside Arkham Asylum, where this doctor works.
Of course things don't go that well and they get in an huge fight ending with a guy spilling some chemicals and both Barry and Oliver hallucinating. What was interesting about this hallucinations is that Oliver hallucinated (and started fighting) with Reverse Flash, and Barry hallucinated (and also fought) with Malcolm Merlyn (which was a pretty big cameo).
Well, and because this isn't the last episode, of course things couldn't end up well and they don't really get the book. Instead, the Monitor (the mysterious guy from the other Earth) makes the Doctor change reality again, but not before some of the most heartfelt conversations of the episode.
First, Barry and Oliver have a really deep conversation where Oliver admits that Barry have been through a lot and he always thought he had it easy, as well as Barry says that he could never get through what Oliver did and I just loved the whole thing! In the end of that conversation, Barry persuades Oliver to go talk to Felicity and work things out and that's the second beautiful conversation. Some real Olicity moments right there! Loved it!
And yeah, like I said, the Doctor changes reality again and, this time, Oliver and Barry are some thief twins who get arrested by none others then Merlyn and Diaz in the end of the episode. That was such an huge twist right there!
I have no idea where this is going and Stephen Amell said that we have no idea what's coming so... Let's see if this tops off the crossover from last year.
In the meantime (I know you don't have that many time but) let me know your thoughts and I'll see you in an hour if you live tweet with me (@danixinhahhh) if not, I'll see you tomorrow with the last rant of the crossover!
Love,
Daniela.

The Flash | Season 5 Episode 9 - "Elseworlds, Part 1"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
Yes, this is an odd day to be posting a new The Flash rant but it's the first episode of the crossover - Elseworlds!
I feel like I always say this on a new crossover but this is already an amazing crossover! I would even say it is their best but... It's really difficult to compare. Actually, yesterday, after this episode, I went to my previous rants and read them just to refresh my memory and compare with this episode and I said that it was going to be difficult to top of last years crossover but... They might have got! Like I was saying, it's really difficult to compare because last years crossover had so many characters and I don't think they'll be able to make a a crossover as epic as that one, but this years is, for sure, so good! Also, something else that I read in my previous rants were that the only thing that I really need in a crossover is Barry and Oliver interacting because I just love them together and... I think this years crossover is the climax of that relationship, with Barry being Oliver and Oliver being Barry.
Just from the previews I could see that this was going to be such a fun crossover but it was even better than what I thought it would be! That initial scene with Oliver and Iris... Priceless! I've watched it a bunch of times and it still gets me laughing out loud. Truth is, this whole episode left me laughing out loud! So many good lines and good acting and... I just really enjoyed it! But, I have to keep in mind, this is the The Flash episode so it is supposed to be the more lighthearted one.
The episode actually begins with a scene that we've seen a bunch of times with The Flash (not Barry) crawling towards a book and then a mysterious stranger saying that he failed. Then, we see that same mysterious man giving that book to Dr. John Deegan, a psychiatrist in Arkham Asylum, and saying that he can rewrite reality as he sees fit.
After that, that's when we see the scene of Oliver waking up and the scene of Barry fighting with Diggle, which were both super fun scenes! Right away we can see how both character take this change - Oliver is super pissed and I found it quite funny that he blamed Barry right away, while Barry is super stoked that he's the Green Arrow and has all this 'new abilities'. It is just so fit to their character's personalities.
In order to get help, Oliver not only goes take Barry from Star City but both go to Team Flash. Unfortunately, none of the Team believes them and that's when they lock Barry and Oliver in the pipeline. That scene in the pipeline must be my favorite in this episode (but I'm not sure because there's so many great scenes in this episode). Just seeing Barry freak out when Oliver tells him that he has to disjoint his thumb in order to get out of the handcuffs... It was so funny! As well as see Oliver deal with The Flash's powers. It's just something I never thought I need but now that I have it, I'm so glad they made it!
Out of the pipeline, Barry and Oliver go to Kara's Earth in order to get her help and see if she still recognizes them as who they really are, which she does. That scene when they move to Earth-38 was quite something! I'm not even a fan of Smallville an it hit me hard with that opening music! It was so cool! Then, seeing Barry's reaction to Superman and Lois Lane... It was all great! Another of my favorite scenes thought was when Barry and Oliver were training and Barry just shots at Oliver. I thought it was so funny and just like pay back. It was such a nice nod to their first crossover (when it was just Arrow and The Flash).
Back on Earth-1, the heroes team together to stop A.M.A.Z.O., an android that can copy their abilities. Once again, I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot, but those scenes were also really nice because both Barry and Oliver realized that, in order to reach their potential, they really had to 'be each other' (in terms of personality) and we saw such a different type of person from each of them. And that last line that Barry delivered, it gave me chills!
In the very end, after defeating the android, they see a vision from that mysterious stranger from Cisco and that's when they realize that they have to travel to Gotham City.
The episode ends with Batwoman standing on top of a tower, looking out over Gotham.
Now that I really think about it, it makes sense that the next episode, which is Arrow's, is where they go to Gotham, because Gotham is really similar to Star City/Arrow - both have more of a dark feel to it.
Before I end I just want to point out some other things that I really enjoyed about this episode. First, I was really happy that Ralph was in the episode - I was really afraid he wouldn't be in it because... You never know... But he was and I'm happy. He probably won't be in the next one but I'm fine with that. Second, not really something that I liked but I needed to point out, I missed Felicity in this episode. I know that she's going to be in the next one (or the one after the next) but I feel like she should've been in this episode too - I mean, Diggle was. I did like Iris' mention to Oliver (who she thought was Barry) about Felicity calling her and just telling him all the truth, it was a nice touch.
I did not like though all the bashing from Iris' towards Oliver, like she's that bad of a person! She kept bashing him, almost saying that he's the worse and I really disliked that! I already don't really like Iris, and after that... Ugh...
And well, I guess that's pretty much it. Overall it was an amazing episode and I'm so excited to see more of Barry and Oliver as each other (that is my main focus in this crossover, to be honest).
Let me know what you thought of this first part, what did you like, what you didn't like and I'll see you tomorrow for Part 2.
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 8 - "Unmasked"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
As per usual, I'm posting this a tiny bit late, but it's the day after the episode aired so I think that's fine.
Anyway, I don't know how I feel about this episode. For once, as you can see by the banner, this was finally the episode where Katherine McNamara's character was introduced and... You know how I feel about her. She's a sweetheart and I really like her (I actually met her last year on my birthday) but... she's just a bad actress. I can't really talk from this week's episode of Arrow, but from Shadowhunters. And it's not like Shadowhunters was her first role, because it wasn't so... There's really no excuse besides her just not being great, but let's see if she improves on Arrow. Besides that, there was a lot more introduced in this episode which was nice, but there was some stuff that I didn't really like so... This episode is leaving me torn. But let's talk about the main points of this episode.
It actually started with a big reveal which wasn't that surprising, to be honest, which was the identity of the new Green Arrow. They tried to keep it a bit mysterious through out the episode, but they kind of failed because we knew all along, even before this episode, that it was Emiko Queen.
Next, we dive into the flash forwards, and that's when we are introduced to Kat's character - Black Star. In a way, I'm happy that she's part of the future and not a new character in the present, but still... I think she's going to ruin the show as well as the flash forwards for me. Anyway, we find out about her and she's a fighter and all and we learn that she did some stuff for Felicity but, of course, she's hiding something, which we don't really find out what. There wasn't a lot in this week's flash forwards, to be honest.
Then, there were two main things in this episode that took place in present day. One of those is something that I'm pretty sad about, but I kind of get it.
So, Oliver gets out of prison and all and, right in the beginning of the episode, we some some sweet Olicity moments, which is great, but then... Everything goes to sh*t. Later in the episode they are attacked in their home and... Felicity just takes out a gun and shoots this guy! Which is so surprising to Oliver and that's when they have a talk and Felicity tells him that she's changed and everything and... It doesn't look good for Olicity. Again. But, like I said, I kind of get it. They had to do something with Felicity's character and, in a way, justify what happens in the future and, truth be told, it's a completely normal thing for her to change while Oliver was in prison and afraid of getting attacked by Diaz (which ended up happening). Anyway, I'm not really happy with this new Felicity, but I kind of get it.
The next thing was a much happier one which was Oliver joining the SCPD as the Green Arrow in a way to help catch 'the bad guys'. This was quite something because it means that we are still going to see Oliver as Green Arrow, but we won't need to worry about him getting caught by the police and etc, which is nice. Also, that moment when he told Diggle that he didn't need the mask anymore! Wow! That was pretty deep, and I loved it!
And, before I finish this I just want to say that I'm kind of bored with Diggle's story-line. Not only it seems like they didn't know what to do with his character but also now we are getting back to Diaz and... I just don't like it! I seriously hope they are done with Diaz' story-line and just make Stanley the bad guy for the rest of the season!
Anyway, that's it guys! Let me know all your thoughts and predictions and I might see you tomorrow (I'm still not sure because I'm going to be pretty busy tomorrow).
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 7 - "The Slabside Redemption"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
(Just a little side note, I'm sorry I'm posting this a bit late. I went to the Robin Hood movie anticipated showing and then I was watching The Flash live so... Yeah. Apologies made, let's get to the actual rant.)
Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! This was an hell of an episode! Seriously, this must have been the best episode of the season so far! I might get a little ahead of myself but I loved it and I'm just going to say why I loved it! For starters, there was no bullsh*t story-lines. The went straight to the point, focusing on what really mattered at this point, which was Oliver and Diaz (basically), it also had amazing camera work, amazing fight scenes (probably the best ones of the whole series) and it gave us an amazing set up for the new villain of the season because, yes, we finally got rid of Diaz! I was getting so tired of him and the fact the we are finally done with him just makes me really happy, which is also one of the reasons why I loved this episode. Now that I said everything that I loved, let's get into what really happened in the episode.
So, as I said, this episode was all about Oliver and, because of that, it was all set in the prison, which was something that I liked, surprisingly. We begin the episode with Oliver revealing that he knows that Stanley manipulated him into framing Turner for Dunbar's murder, which makes then Oliver go to Turner and apologize.
We then see the second main guy of this episode, Diaz, arriving to the prison but, as you can guess, having some guards in his palm and just getting free. But instead of just leaving, he decides to (kind of) man up and just face Oliver. So he visits Oliver and threatens to kill him and his family which drives Oliver mad forcing the guards to take him back to his cell.
Knowing that Diaz is still loose inside the prison, Oliver breaks out of his cell and confronts security guards and escapes level one to go after Diaz.
Meanwhile, Diaz kills some guards, sets free some inmates and, as you can imagine, a lot goes to sh*t.
Oliver's search for Diaz is then interrupted by Sampson and Brick who confront Oliver but that's when Turner appears and basically saves Oliver. Both of them, Oliver and Turner, start working on a plan to get help but, when Oliver tries to contact someone, Diaz taunts him saying that there's no way to contact anyone. This makes Oliver even more pissed off and that's when sh*t really goes down.
Diaz sets up some type of bomb that creates a fire, frees all the inmates and a riot just starts inside the prison.
In between all of this, while Oliver is trying to execute a plan to finally take down Diaz, Stanley kidnaps Oliver and that's when we really see Stanley's true colors and how crazy he is (like, seriously crazy). But, as you can expect, Oliver gets free and returns to Turner to keep going with the plan. And that's when the final showdown between Oliver and Diaz finally happens!
It's long waited but it was really worth it! Amazing camera work and just amazing stunts! So good! And yes, in the very end, Oliver stabs Diaz, while inside his cell, and just locks him up. I didn't really see if he died or if he's just gonna rot in there but, either way, I'm glad he's over! He was really getting on my nerves and, to be honest, Stanley looks like a more interesting villain so... Let's see.
Oh, and talking about Stanley... While this is happening, elsewhere in the prison, Stanley kills Brick and escapes. So, it's going to be interesting.
In the very end of the episode, Oliver is finally set free and we have the Olicity reunion that we've been waiting for (with Diggle in the mix, as well).
As I said before, this was an amazing episode! I can't really see anything wrong with it. And, I was kind of right. I said since the beginning that Oliver was going to be out by episode 6... It was in episode 7 but, I was close.
Anyway, I can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings and I truly hope they make Stanley the new villain because I'm really interested in knowing more about him. He looks just like really insane and not one of those bad guys that just want to rule the world so... Let's see.
Let me know all your thoughts and predictions and I'll see you tomorrow with new The Challenge and The Flash rants!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 6 - "Due Process"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
Here I am, one more week, with a brand new Arrow rant - and what an episode!
This must have been the episode where I felt more compelled to the story and probably my favorite so far! I feel like everything in this episode was important, made sense to the story and, more important, kept it going, which is what I appreciate the most. I hate when episode are just basically 'fillers' and they don't add that much to the story, and this didn't have anything like that and for that I'm grateful! Oh, something else that I'm really grateful for, and I'm going to say this right away, We finally got Ricardo Diaz! It was about time! (I know that in the preview we see him breaking into the prison which kind of means that he didn't go there but anyway, what means is that we got him and I'm so happy for that).
Okay, now that I let out all of my excitement, let's talk, in depth, about all the stuff that I really enjoyed about this episode (which was everything, just so you know).
We saw in the very end of the last episode Diaz approaching Anatoly, and that's exactly how this episode begins. We see Anatoly being confronted and tortured by Diaz and we also learn that Diaz had killed all of the Bratva.
From that, we see Felicity and Black Siren finding where Diaz is and they waste no time going after him and later having Rene joining them. When they get to the place where Diaz was, they don't find him but instead, they find Anatoly, right before ARGUS comes in and finds all of them. That's when all of them get together (Felicity, Rene, Dinah, Diggle and Curtis) to investigate Bratva's slaughter.
The team discovers Diaz and the Longbow Hunters are planning to level the city with pipe bombs and so, as we can expect, they go and try to stop them, and that's when, with the help of the new Green Arrow (which now you can clearly see it's a woman) they manage to capture Diaz, but the Longbow Hunters get away.
While this is happening, Black Siren visits Oliver at Slabside who insists on helping Oliver in becoming a free man, even with Oliver rejecting her help. She later tries to get his sentence appealed in court but the judge denies it. That's when she decides to take measure into her own hands and tries to kill the judge. Luckily, Dinah appears and, having heard Black Siren's testimony and now believe she has changed, is able to persuade her not to kill the judge.
But these were not the only two things happening in this episode. Also while everyone handled their own problems, Oliver was also handling some in prison.
Turns out his new best friend, Stanley, gets sent to the hallway for being framed for murder, which Oliver starts investigating. Oliver finds out Turner was the suspect and is sent away and in return, Stanley is set free, only to leave Oliver wandering about Stanley's true intentions after Stanley inadvertently revealing that he knew it was Turner's knife that was used in the murder.
Then, after basically everything is over, Felicity visits Diaz at the SCPD and plans to shoot him, but that's when Black Siren appears and tells her that she made a trade with the FBI to free Oliver in exchange for Oliver's cooperation in Diaz' prosecution.
And, because what was left to make this episode even better where some flash-forward, which we got!
This time we see William, Roy, Dinah and Zoe pass several checkpoints set by Felicity (or so we think) while William and Roy learn that Felicity became a criminal, taking on her father's mantel as the Calculator. We also see that Felicity had hidden some plans for Star City to be leveled, just like what Diaz' was trying to do in present day.
The flash-forward got really confusing to me in this episode. I did enjoy them but I'm still waiting for a lot of answers. Apart from that, I loved everything in this episode. I loved to see the team all together again, I loved that there were no bullsh*t side story-line which, sometimes, is annoying, and, most of all, I liked that they finally got Diaz! Oh, and Stanley... I can see there's way more to him and I can wait for it all to be reveled.
But that's it for now! Great episode!
Let me know what you thought of the episode and what do think is going to happen? What is up with all the stuff in the flash-forwards? If you have any idea, let me know! Oh, and just a side note, it wasn't this time that Oliver got out of jail so... Maybe next episode? Let's see.
Until then...
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 5 - "The Demon"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello people!
Here I am, in a brand new week, with a brand new Arrow rant.
I feel like I've been saying this a lot about basically all the series but, this arrow episode made me feel weird. Not in a bad way though, it just that a lot of people loved the episode and got so excited about it and, for me, it was just... okay. I mean, don't get me wrong, I liked the episode and basically all the story-lines in it were pretty interesting but for some odd reason it didn't got me that interested. I don't know, maybe it was just a day that I wasn't feeling the Arrow vibes. Anyway, let's get into specifics.
In this episode we finally got to really see "Level Two". I know a lot of people were disappointed last episode about what Level Two was. It looked like 'not that bad' but what we saw wasn't really Level Two. I mean, it was, but it was just Oliver's 'bedroom' (or something) and in this episode we saw the rest of Level Two, where inmates are kept in inhuman conditions and mostly experimented on.
In there, he finds Talia (she actually breaks into his 'room') and she tries to persuade him into helping her to get out of there. At first, Oliver refuses, but then, after seeing what really happens in Level Two (inmates dying because of the experiments) he teams up with her to plan an escape. This brought some of the coolest fight scenes in the episode (and maybe even in the season), which was actually one of the things that quite enjoyed about it. Anyway, after fighting all those guards and everything, Oliver decides not to escape himself to avoid having to spend the rest of his life as a fugitive. Also, Oliver pulls up 'a Felicity' and collects some evidence of what happened in level two, and so he asks Talia to deliver them to Felicity, which she does, thus causing the facility to be shut down and then Oliver is transferred back to level one.
Elsewhere, Curtis gets back on the field with Dig, and helps capturing an international terrorist.
I don't really know what else to say about this story-line. I thought this was really out of context and not really necessary for the show at all, but it was nice to see Curtis back on the field, plus, he always brings some light to the show so, that was fun.
And, the last story-line that I kind of enjoyed was Felicity, Black Siren and Dinah teaming up to find, 'the legal way', what is Level Two and what happens there because, after trying to visit Oliver in prison, she finds out, through he's new sidekick, that he's in Level Two. Oh, Felicity also tells him that she has a lead on Diaz and, for some reason, I feel like that was a mistake. I don't know why, but I feel like this new sidekick isn't really who he says he is so...
Anyway, in the very end, Black Siren plans to use the evidence of Level Two to plead for Oliver's release which I believe is going to work out. I always had a feeling that Oliver would be out by episode 6 so... Let's see if I'm right.
Okay, I guess that is all for this episode!
Like I said, weird, but good. Now, I'm going to get ready for the new The Flash episode and feel free to come live tweet with me!
Love,
Daniela.
