Supergirl | Season 5 Episode 9 - "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys.
The Crisis is here and, to be honest, I don't know how to deal with it.
This was only the first episode and this crisis is already a nightmare. For numerous reasons, really, but let's start with the good stuff.
You might be confused with that banner, since this is the Supergirl episode and the banner says Gotham. Well, the crossover starts with an introduction to what is happening with this crisis while showing a bunch of Earths getting wiped out. That was basically the only really good moment this episode - the beginning. I got so pumped when they showed a glimpse of Titans! In case you don't know, I also watch pretty much all of the DC shows on the DC Universe streaming, Titans being one of them, and I heard rumors that Titans were going to be in the crossover. Well, this isn't really what I wanted but, to be honest, it was enough to get me excited and to leave me happy. If this is the only Titans thing we get in the crossover, I'm fine with it but, of course, I would love to see more of them in it. But my excitement ended there.
This being the Supergirl episode, of course they focused a lot more on the Supergirl characters and all the plot (basically) happened in Earth-38, where Supergirl is from. I mean, I was expecting that, but the thing is, I stopped watching Supergirl like 2 seasons ago (in the Crisis on Earth-X episode. I did watch Elseworlds, but that was it) and so, I wasn't ware of what had been happening with her and, truth be told, nor I cared. I stopped watching the show because I didn't like it anymore (plus, Melissa just annoys me so, there's that) and I would rather have Black Lightning be part of the crossover, with it's proper episode (I know he's going to be in the crossover) than Supergirl but okay, I knew that going into it. But what made it worse was that Mia was also part of the crossover. I didn't know they were going to include the kids from the future (in Arrow) in the crossover and so having Kara and Mia in the same episode?! That was annoying af! And I should prepare myself because I'm sure there's going to be more of that. But yeah, back to the plot.
The Anti-matter is getting to every planet and so Brainy, a character that I didn't know at all, warned Kara and the others of it being directed to Argo (the place where Superman, Lois and their baby are, apparently) and she warns them to leave the planet. Unfortunately, they can only save their baby in a really cute nod to the way Clark was sent to Earth.
Meanwhile on Earth-1, Harbinger (aka Lyla) recruits Barry, Batwoman, Oliver, Mia, Sara Lance and Ray, to fight this crisis, and sends them to Earth-38 as well as rescues Superman and Lois from Argo and also sends them to help Kara save the people from her Earth.
There's so much that goes on into this but basically the Anti-Monitor is the one that is sending all this anti-matter to destroy the universe and, before working on a plan to defeat him, our heroes try to save as many people as they can from Earth-38, working alongside with the DEO and Lena (who, apparently, is not in good terms with Kara nor Alex. Don't ask me why).
After learning that Jonathan (Superman's baby) ended up in Earth-16, Lois, Sara and Brainy leave to get him while the other stay behind to fight the dark forces of the Anti-Monitor.
During all of this, there's a few moments that are kind of important, such as Oliver passing the mantle of Green Arrow to Mia (which I didn't like) and Oliver talking with Barry and learning that Barry is supposed to die as well, leading Oliver to go and argue with the Monitor about the deal that they made in the last crossover. The Monitor basically says that it's a different situation now and that's it.
Then follows the 'usual' fight scenes of our heroes against some shadow demons that, to be honest, looked like dementors from Harry Potter which, if Cisco was there, he would totally point that out and, deeming the battle as lost, the Monitor breaches our heroes off-world. But not before the unthinkable happens! Oliver is the last one to be 'breached' and he 'fights' the Monitor saying that there's still people to save, fighting until his last breath, literally.
The Monitor does breach Oliver to Earth-1 but just in time for him to say his goodbyes. And just like that, Oliver dies. In the first our of the crossover. I still can't believe it. I'm pretty much in denial like, it just can't be possible! I knew that Oliver was going to die eventually, even if I still believed he wouldn't but like that?! It was so anti-climatic and just not the death he deserved! In the first hour of the crossover? Alone? Not even Diggle was there? In the Supergirl episode? I mean, c'mon! I know everyone was expecting him to die in the last hour but at least kill him in the Arrow episode! What the f*ck is this? I don't know what to think. I'm sad, I'm in denial, I'm angry... I just won't believe he's really dead until the crossover is over. There's still 4 more episodes to go and anything can happen. Barry can go back in time, Gideon in the Wave-rider might still be able to help him, I don't know! Something has to happen! This won't be the end of Oliver, Stephen Amell is still credited in the next episodes of the crossover (at least) but it won't be the same if it's just flashbacks or Oliver from another Earth. It has to be our Oliver.
Anyway, the episode then ends with Nash Wells, now a "pariah"saying that he released the Anti-Monitor and that everything is doomed.
Well, needless to say that I can't wait to watch Part 2 because I just need to know more about Oliver and I just want him back already! Also, next episode is the Batwoman episode and that show I'm watching so it's going to be a lot better! However, I won't be able to live tweet because I watch the show with my sister and she can't watch it live with me so, I'm going to have to wait and watch it later. Hopefully I won't see many spoilers.
Please, let me know what you thought of this first part and tell me you have some theories on how Oliver might come back because I seriously need those! And I'll see you tomorrow with a new rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Supergirl | Season 4 Episode 9 - "Elseworlds, Part 3"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone and welcome to the last rant of Elseworlds!
This was such an huge roller coaster but I did get to a conclusion in regards of comparing this crossover to the last ones.
All in all, this crossover fell a bit short for me... I did really love the whole body swap thing, I loved seeing Barry and Oliver together, and that already makes for a great crossover for me, but the last one was epic with loads of characters and just epic action while this one was a lot more simple and just really focused on the main three heroes which, about Barry and Oliver I liked but, when it comes to Supergirl... I don't care that much. I think I've never really said this but I gave up on Supergirl. I kind of liked the first two seasons and by the third season I really lost interest and, actually, the last Supergirl episode that I watched was the last crossover! I'm still going to finish Season 3 just because of Chris Wood but he isn't on the show anymore so, I'm not going to bother with Season 4. And so, as you can see, this was bit of a 'difficult' episode for me because, just like the last ones had a lot more stuff to do with their own shows (like the first was had more The Flash characters and the second one was a bit more dark, just like Arrow is) this also happened in this episode, with a lot more scenes focused on Supergirl. I mean, I get it, but I'm just not really into her anymore so... In the end, I can't really complain because, to be honest, the only main thing Supergirl wise was the relationship between Kara and Alex, besides that, it was pretty much focused on Oliver and Barry, and I liked that.
So, the episode begins with Barry and Oliver waking up in a reality where they are wanted criminals, hunted by Deegan as Black Superman while Kara is kept at a prison at STAR Labs, run by Deegan Superman, Killer Frost, Diggle and Alex, who think she's crazy.
In a way to try and get things back to their rightful place, Barry and Oliver locate Cisco who's a mob boss in this new reality. I just need to point out that I loved the Gary cameo because they said that Legends weren't going to be part of the crossover but Gary is in Legends so... I liked that little cameo.
Anyway so, with Cisco's help, they go to Earth-38 to bring the real Superman to Earth-1 and fight Deegan Superman.
While Superman is busy with Deegan Superman, Supergirl convinces Alex to release her, and together with Barry they are able to retrieve the Book of Destiny. Kara tries to get reality back to it's original form but she isn't strong enough so Superman does it and he's able to return Barry and Oliver to their original forms but then Deegan gets an hold with the book and escapes with it.
Barry proposes he and Kara travel in opposite directions to slow the Earth in order to retrieve the book, even though Clark says it will kill them. With this threat, Oliver goes to the Monitor and negotiates with him saying that both Barry and Kara are the best of them.
Kara and Barry successfully slow the Earth, allowing Clark to retrieve the book and defeat Deegan with the help of Oliver, J'onn, Brainy and Lois.
With everything as it should be, everyone that isn't from this Earth gets back to Earth-38 and that's when Clark reveals that Lois is pregnant, and that they are going to be moving to Argo City for a short period. In the end, Clark proposes to Lois and she accepts.
Back in Earth-1, Barry and Oliver celebrate in a bar and that's when it gets back to the beginning of this season with the 'bantering' between Oliver and Barry, when Barry wants to hug Oliver but Oliver says no. I loved that!
The episode then ends with Oliver getting a call from Batwoman, revealing that Deegan in in Arkham and has made friends with Psycho-Pirate, leaving this crossover with the announcement of next years crossover - Crisis on Infinite Earths.
I have to say that this wasn't really a surprise for me because I've seen so many people talking about it but it did get me excited because it means that next year we're going to have so many characters in the crossover and that is going to be epic! I can expect next year's crossover to be better than the Crisis on Earth-X but, unfortunately, Elseworlds wasn't as epic, in my opinion. I still love it but comparing the two, I still prefer last year's crossover.
And yeah, I guess that's pretty much it guys. Like I said, this didn't really live up to all my expectations but that very first part was amazing and I'm going to re-watch it a bunch of times.
Let me know what you thought of this years crossover. Did you like it as much as last years? Do you prefer Elseworlds? Tell me everything and I'll talk to you Friday with a new Supernatural rant.
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 6 Episode 8 - "Crisis on Earth-X, Part 2"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone and here the second part of the DCTV crossover!
Just like I was expecting, this had pretty much a feeling of an Arrow type of episode, although still not enough screen time of the Arrow characters.
I feel like because the initial 'theme' of the crossover was Barry's wedding, a lot of screen time is going to be on The Flash's episodes, apart from the main three characters, of course.
Nonetheless, it was another great episode and I'm seriously loving this crossover! I might even watch everything in a row when the next two episode air (which is basically right now). Still, this episode had some issues.
Actually, this episode had my biggest nightmare - one that I didn't even know I had - Oliver and Kara together! Ugh! Just like Kara said "So gross!". That's exactly what I felt when I saw Dark Arrow and Dark Supergirl kissing! That was seriously so disgusting and I just can't, I just can't with that. I already don't like Kara and with this character... No! Plus, I don't think Melissa Benoist makes a good villain so... But let's focus on the storyline of the episode.
So, like I thought, Prometheus from Earth-X wasn't Adrian and was, indeed, Tommy. I was already expecting this so it wasn't a surprise. Still, I really wanted it to be Adrian so I was a tiny bit disappointed. And, althought it was a good throwback (even though Tommy wasn't my favourite character) it didn't last long because he killed himself.
Talking about 'predictions', I guess I went a little too overboard with my Felicity theory because, turns out, she's just afraid of marrying. She's afraid that what happened last time would happen again and that's basically the reason why she doesn't want to get married.
She only tells this to Iris but then Oliver talks with Barry and Iris about how much he loves Felicity and how he thinks she doesn't love him as much as he does and she hears it so I think Felicity will tell Oliver everything and it would just be great to have them marry in the end of the crossover instead of Barry and Iris! I would love that! I don't it will happen, not that way, but this makes me thing that it might be Oliver/Felicity and Barry/Iris the two weddings that happen because there were some rumors about that so, I really hope so. Plus, they have been focusing too much on Felicity and Oliver's issues in the crossover so, I do really think they're going to marry.
Getting back to the whole Nazi thing... The 'Dark Team' steal a power source called 'Prism' and our Team of heroes believe that Team Dark seeks to build a neutron bomb with it.
They discover where the Nazis are and the 'main team' goes after them, leaving Felicity, Iris, Caitlin and Rory in STAR Labs.
Then some cool fight scenes happen, like it is usual on Arrow episodes and there were some pretty cool parts! I always love a good fight. Unfortunatelly, in the end, Dark Team (apart from Dark Arrow) win.
Meanwhile, in the STAR Labs, that's where Dark Arrow is. He fights both Killer Frost and Rory but no luck, that's when half of the Team Arrow appears (Dinah, Curtis and Rene) but with no luck either and, in the end, we see the Nazis take them and lock them up.
Dark Arrow gets back to the Dark Team and that's when we learn that Dark Supergirl is actually dying and that they want to replace her hear with OG Supergirl's heart. After that, our team gets unconscious and later wake up on Earth-X; all of them appart from Kara.
And, in the every end we see Nazis taking over STAR Labs and Felicity and Iris there, by themselves, which means we're going to have some girl power, which I can't wait!
This episode was mainly focused on the 'real talk', we had like a lot of important conversations between characters, which reminded me a lot of Arrow so, overall, I'm happy with it.
I still wanted more character from Supergirl though, although that's my least favourite DCTV show... But I really wanted Winn, Cisco and Felicity interacting but there's still next year, right?!
I also hope we get to see a lot more of Team Arrow in the next two episodes and, of course, I know we are going to see more of the Legends of, I also can't wait for that.
We know that they are going to win but I'm really curious on how it's going to end and if there's going to be some repercussions.
I'll see you tomorrow with the last two rants of the crossover!
Love,
Daniela.

Supergirl | Season 3 Episode 8 - "Crisis on Earth-X, Part 1"

Spoiler Alert!

Ok guys, prepare yourself, because I have a lot to talk about!
Hey everyone and welcome to the first part of the big DCTV crossover!
You have no idea how I excited I've been about this crossover! I mean, I'm always excited for this big crossovers so expect like tons of talking, starting out with a little critique.
This episode is supposed to be a Supergirl one, right? I know that, specially this crossover, isn't meant to have a proper series but there's still people that don't watch all four series so, to them, this is a Supergirl episode and, in my opinion, for a Supergirl episode, this had like basically no Supergirl characters, only Kara and Alex. Ok, we had James in the very beginning of the episode, but only that. I was expecting to see a lot more of Winn, Mon-El and J'onn. We still got to see them, that's right, but I wanted them to be part of the fighting and all and, mostly, I wanted to see two things - all the geek team (Felicity, Cisco and Winn) because Winn wasn't in the last big crossover, and I wanted to see Grant Gustin and Chris Wood act together. I know they did the Duet episode, but they barely interacted there, so I wanted more action. I think at least J'onn is still going to be part of the team but, I don't know.
Anyway so, I didn't see any previews before this so I had no idea what they were going to be up against. I supposed it was going to be something about something happen in Earth-X, since it is the name of the episode, and that's it. In that, I was right and, we find out that basically in Earth-X, a Nazi regime rule the planet where a Dark Arrow hunts the Americans loyalists.
They made like a 'big reveal' in the end of the episode about who was under the mask, both the Dark Arrow and the 'Dark Supergirl' but it was pretty obvious, right away, that it was Oliver and Kara. The only thing that I wasn't expecting, and I'm stepping a little ahead, was Harry being the Reverse Flash, that was surprising.
We also already knew that the episode was going to be about Barry and Iris' wedding and that was also what happened.
Actually, most of the episode was just getting ready for the wedding and all that stuff and it had quite some moments! I can't go deep in every one of them, but I have to mention some. First, Barry and Oliver's 'moment' while trying the suits was quite something! I always love to see them interact and, to be honest, they're the main reason why I watch/love this crossovers - I just love Oliver and Barry 'together'. I guess that's because they have such different personalities and that works so well! Seriously, I love it!
Then, I have to talk about the Sara and Alex thing. I just knew that was going to happen! I don't know... I just could see them getting along and since they're both lesbians (I mean, Sara is bi but yeah) I just had a feeling something was going to happen between them. And it was so funny!
And lastly, I have to talk about the 'not so good' Oliver proposal to Felicity. That made me sad! You know I'm an huge Olicity shipper and I even said in my last Arrow rant that I just wanted them to marry in this episode too so I really wanted Felicity to say yes. And, because of that, I feel like she's hidding something. I don't know what... Maybe she's married to someone else?! Is she married to Ray?! I mean, that's the only thing I can think about... Something tells me that we are going to find out soon so, let's see!
Oh, and just one last little thing - loved that Kara sang Barry's song! I mean, I would so much prefer Barry/Grant to sing it but still, I love that song and it was such a nice touch.
Of course then something had to happen and the Dark Arrow and Dark Supergirl invade Barry's wedding and they end up not marrying (which I kind of liked it, to be honest).
The Dark Arrow and 'his Team' have then to retreat after Supergirl injured Dark Supergirl and our team capturing Prometheus, which got me so excited! I really wanted this Prometheus to be Adrian/Josh Segarra but I kind of saw a spoiler earlier and I think it's Tommy so... That is kind of sad. Still, that was my theory last season so, does this count like I'm right?!
And well, I guess that was it for this episode. This has barelly started to I expect really cool things in the next episodes!
The next one is going to be the Arrow one so I hope I get to see a few more Arrow characters like Diggle, Black Canary and Curtis. I mean, I've seen in the promo pictures that Dinah, Curtis and Rene are there so, I just want Diggle to be there too (although I don't think so).
So, expect a new rant really soon!
Love,
Daniela.

Supergirl | Season 2 Episode 16 - "Star-Crossed"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys and here it is a special rant for you - a Supergirl rant!
It's been exactly 8 episodes since my last Supergirl rant, which was the super crossover between Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow and, me being here with a new Supergirl rant means what?! Exactly, a new crossover! And this one I've been so excited for!
You know I'm a sucker for having all my favourite superheroes shows together and, all of them being part of The CW is amazing, which means I can have a crossover every once in a while.
This time it isn't a crossover as big as the last one, but this is huge because it is a music crossover with The Flash! Not only I love musicals but I also have been dying to have Chris Wood and Grant Gustin in the same episode and being a musical episode makes it even better because both of them studied in the same university and both majored in music theater so this crossover is going to be amazing!
And I say it's going to be because this episode of Supergil, just like in the previous crossover, didn't have much interaction with The Flash, only a little hint in the beginning and then the end, which makes the bridge (literally) to The Flash episode (which I'm going to rant next).
Still, since this is part of the crossover, I've decided to rant about it anyway and I kind of chose a good episode because this episode was all about Mon-El.
In this episode we finally find out 'the truth' about Mon-El. They have been teasing us about him for a couple of episodes now but last episode had like a big scene in the end which was obvious that this episode was going to reveal everything. Also, I don't know how no one ever thought this but it was kind of obvious that Mon-El was the prince... Ever since that episode where someone is showing a picture of Mon-El in that other planet I thought that he was the prince and, guess what? I was right.
Obviously Kara didn't like this and the fact that Mon-El lied to her.
This was actually good for me because I don't ship Karamel. I like Mon-El but I don't ship him with Kara so this episode was also great because of that.
Needless to say that by the end of the episode she breaks up with him which, once again, I didn't mind at all. I just don't know how this is going to bring Mon-El to Central City but I know that he is in The Flash episode so... Let's see.
Meanwhile, my favourite part of the episode, I must say, Win.
I love Win and his relationship with Lyra is just too cute. Unfortunately, things happen in this episode.
Both of them break into a Museum which leads to Win bein arrested.
He then finds out that Lyra stole a painting at the museum and that was the real reason why she wanted to go there.
Luckily, who arrested him was Maggie, so Alex pulled some strings and Maggie gave them 24 hours to prove Winn's innocence.
That's when they go after Lyra, capture her and she tells the that she did it because her brother, Bastian, owes a large debt to a smuggler named Mandrax and that the painting is to free Bastian.
Obviously they then come up with a plan to not only free Bastian but also catch Mandrax since he's been on the run.
Needless to say that they do all of that and in the end Winn forgives Lyra for lying to him, which is just so cute!
And then comes the bridge for The Flash's episode.
The DEO captures a new alien, who hypnotizes Kara and escapes to Earth-1 to fight Barry.
This is how he get into our musical episode.
Seriously, I can't wait to watch The Flash episode. In fact, I'm going right away watch it so... I hope you guys liked this 'special' and I'll see you in a few hours with the second part of this crossover.
Love,
Daniela.

Supergirl | Season 2 Episode 8 - "Medusa"

Spoiler Alert!

So, it starts!
That's right guys, our biggest crossover ever started last night with Supergirl's episode and, just like I said I would, I'm doing a rant of every episode in this crossover, starting with Supergirl.
To be honest, I don't really know why I'm doing this rant, because the only part crossover related in this episode was the very last 5 minutes or something... Ok, we had some clues during th episode but basically, just like I have read, this was just the set up for the crossover that is going to happen in the next episodes of The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.
Anyway, I'm doing a full rant of the episode because I need to talk about my baby Chris Wood.
If you don't follow Supergirl you might not understand some things in this rant so, I'm sorry about that.
So, the episode starts with Cyborg Superman unleashing a virus in the alien bar that kills all the aliens that were there, except for Mon-El (Chris Wood's character).
And, since we are already on the topic of Chris Wood, and since I haven't talked yet about this character of his... Let me tell you that, this character is so different from what I'm used to from him. I mean, Mon-El has basically the same sense of humor as Kai did and he doesn't have a beard here so, it kind of reminds me Kai but, at the same time, it's so different. I don't know, I just know that I love seeing him on my TV and that I will watch anything that he is in.
Ok, now back to the story.
Mon-El doesn't die but he is kept in quarantine (throwback to Containment). And basically the rest of the episode is about Kara and the rest of the DEO trying to find a cure so they can save Mon-El, as well as trying to stop Cadmus from unleashing the virus in a 'global' scale.
Meanwhile all this, Alex also comes out to Eliza, about her being gay, as well as Mon-El, in a 'dying state', kisses Kara. (Un)Fortunately, when they find the cure, he lies to Kara saying that he doesn't remember anything and, since, until now, Kara doesn't really have feelings for him, she doesn't tell him anything either.
And, because I always have to give my opinion on the ships... I seriously don't know what to think about them. I'm not a big fan, to be honest, but I can 'tolerate' them together, if they eventually really end up together, which I do think will happen because we also find out in this episode that some aliens are looking for Mon-El, in order to kill him (I think).
Now, the connection to the crossover.
While all this was happening, every now and then a breach opened, but no one came out of it. Just in the very last scene of the episode, we see Barry and Cisco coming out of it while Kara arrives at her house. Barry tells her that they have a problem in their Earth an that they need her help. And, like this, the crossover is set up.
As you can see,  not much in this episode was crossover related, but I decided to do the rant anyway, because I thought it would make more sense.
So, tomorrow a new The Flash rant will be up! Unfortunatelly, I won't be able to watch it live tonight but I'm going to watch the Arrow episode live so, excited for that!
Anyway, let me know in the comments your thoughts about this episode, and tell me if you already watched Supergirl before the crossover or if you just watched this episode because of it.
Until tomorrow!
Love,
Daniela.
