Supernatural | Season 14 Episode 13 - "Lebanon"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
This week we had another achievement in terms of series! Not only it was Arrow's 150th episode, but it was also Supernatural's 300th episode, and it's about the later that I'm going to talk to you about in this post.
To be honest, I kind of failed with you in this episode. The truth is, I was doing something else during most of the episode and I just only payed attention for the last 20 minutes (needless to say that I didn't quite understand the whole thing). But it was fine because, right after it aired, I was able to watch it again and really understand everything that happen.
For this landmark, they decided to do something different from the last 'special episodes'. The last ones were about Fan-fiction or a musical, but this one they really focused on something really nostalgic and... I don't need to make this suspenseful, you already know what I'm talking about so they basically brought John back and it was huge! There wasn't really much, besides that, in this episode, but it meant a lot anyways (even if I never really liked John).
I loved how they were able to integrate this episode with the whole story and not just a special episode (kind of a filler). Basically they began with Sam and Dean finding a bunch of occult items from a pawn shop and keeping them for safety. In those occult items there was a cigar box containing the ghost of John Wayne Gacy (which gave us a really funny scene with Dean teasing Sam, you know, the usual) and a Chinese pearl that grants the holder's greatest wish, and that's where it connects to the whole plot. Sam and Dean think that the pearl might be a way to get Michael out of Dean's mind, since that's what Dean wants the most, but it doesn't go that way and instead, he summons John from 2003.
Of course the boys are thrilled in the beginning, they have their family all together (and the scene where Mary reunites with John was truly beautiful) but that's until they find out that, the removal of John from 2003, changes everything in their life creating a world where Sam runs a law firm and is internet famous, Dean is an wanted serial killer and Castiel is an unquestioning soldier of Heaven.
A whole confrontation with Castiel then happens and that's when the brothers realize that they really need to get things back in place. Of course they really don't want to but, eventually, they decide to do it - destroy the pearl and send John back to 2003 to prevent the new timeline from becoming a reality.
After an emotional goodbye, John is returned to his own timeline, leaving him thinking that the experience was only a dream.
Well and that was basically it for the episode.
Like I said, there wasn't much to it, but it was truly beautiful and emotional to have a 'kind of' happy episode and an happy ending (for now), and it was also a different way to celebrate this milestone.
Let me know what you thought of episode 300 and well, we now have to wait about a month for a new episode so, I'll see you in an Arrow or The Flash rant!
Love,
Daniela.
