Supernatural | Season 15 Episode 10 - "The Heroes' Journey"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everybody!
I'm back with a new rant so let's talk about Supernatural's new episode.
This episode was exactly what I was expecting - so much fun! And, where usually I like to be surprised, this time I was so happy that this was what I thought it would be. This reminded me a lot of some previous episodes, episodes from the early seasons of Supernatural so, of course, I loved that.
The beginning was a bit odd. It looked like nothing that happened in the last episode happened, but pretty soon they explain what is going on such as Castiel going to Heaven to ask for help and try to find Chuck. At the same time, the brothers get a call from Garth asking for help, and that's when the troubles begin. But, this time, not your usual problems. We are so used to Sam and Dean having some weird ass problems, with witches or curses or other monster but, this time, they are having some other type of problems - normal people issues, such as cavities, getting sick and car trouble. In this case, this were some weird problems. It was so weird see them deal with going to the dentist, or just not be able to pick a lock. But at the same time, that was what made this episode so much fun! And it was actually Garth that 'kind of' resolved their problem - he suggests that because they were the heroes of God's story, now that they pissed him off, God downgraded them back to normal people, which is an interesting concept, something that only Supernatural could pull off.
But, even as 'normal people', they helped Garth with his problem - Bess's cousin Brad being attacked by a Wraith. Brad explains that he was attempting to make money in an underground monster fight club which the Winchesters see right away as a problem and try to shut it down. However, the Winchesters now being normal people, obviously it goes south and they are captured to fight against a massive Vampire. Luckily, they had Garth, who rescues the Winchesters, blows up the fight club and kills the vampire, which leads to Dean saying that, this time, Garth was the Hero of this story.
And well, in the end, Garth tells them about a place where they could get their regular abilities, and so, that's where the Winchesters decide to go, as they could not defeat God as normal people.
As I said, this was so much fun and I loved to have Garth back. Garth is one of my favorite characters, I just love his softness. Even without Cas or Jack, this was amazing and I can't wait to see what Sam and Dean will face in this 'magical place' in Alaska, which is going to be the next episode. I doubt it would be as good as this one but, we'll see.
Post that, let me know what you thought of this episode, what was your reaction to normal Sam and Dean and which are your predictions for the next episode.
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 8 Episode 9 - "Livin' in the Future"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
Here we are, with Arrow's second to last episode. I feel like I'm still not ready to talk about the ending of this show so let's just talk about this exact episode. At least, for now.
Well, first of all, you might be confused with the title of this one. So, originally, the episode was supposed to just be called "Green Arrow & The Canaries", but because they're turning this episode into an whole show, they wanted a 'proper' title for the episode thus "Livin' in the Future". Post that, yes, this is the start of a new show (that might or might not be picked up). I have some mixed feelings on this new show. I like the idea of a female centered show (that's why I wanted Wayward Sisters to be picked up) and I love that Dinah is a main character in this, but you all know how I feel about Mia and Kat McNamara. Love Kat, but don't think she's a good actress nor I stand Mia. And so, because of that, I'm on defense with this show. But it did look good from this first episode.
So, this episode follows a whole new timeline and a time period. Here we are in 2040, a different future (after the events of Crisis) where Mia is actually engaged to JJ. Weird, I know. Also, and maybe my favorite part of the episode, Dinah is living a completely different life, where she owns a bar and in which the first scene with her is her playing the piano and singing. You know I love Juliana is she sings all the time on her Instagram, and she's really good, I might add, so I completely loved this! Plus, in the comics, Dinah does sing (which she also does in the new Birds of Prey movie) so this makes it even better.
But the main character of this (at least, this episode) is really Laurel. She's the reason why the three reunite, when Helena Bertinelli's daughter, Bianca, is kidnapped and Laurel needs Dinah and Mia's help to find her. The issue is, Mia doesn't remember anything from before the Crisis, and so that's when Laurel uses a ring created by Cisco that recreates J'onn J'onzz's abilities and restores her memories. And after working some issues out, the three go after Trevor, Bianca's ex-boyfriend, who then basically reveals that he's working for someone else.
They didn't find Bianca but, later on, while Mia and William are talking, Mia recognizes the arrowhead that was given to William has the same tattoo on Trevor's hand. And that's when the episode comes to an end, with both of them being tranquilized, as well as someone breaking into JJ's house to restore is memories and make him remember that once he was the leader of the Deathstroke Gang.
I must say, I'm curious to see how this story-line goes so, for that, I want the spin-off to happen. But ultimately, I'm still unsure.
Let me know what you thought of this «pilot» for a new show and yeah... Next episode is the last one and I'm really not prepared.
Love,
Daniela.

Supernatural | Season 15 Episode 9 - "The Trap"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello people!
Well, I'm sorry I'm posting this a day late but you know the drill. I was busy with something else... Anyway, that doesn't matter. What matters is that there's a new Supernatural episode and it was freaking amazing!
This episode of Supernatural was so much better than the end of Crisis. Not that I should comparing the two, but they are both series that I love deeply and Crisis was something that I was really looking forward to and, in the end, just one episode of Supernatural was better. But anyway, let's properly talk about the episode.
If you really think about it, this episode dragged a bit. The Chuck/Sam part of the episode, really didn't give us much, but still, it was so damn entertaining that we didn't feel like it was dragging. It's amazing, really! And starting with that story-line, it was revealed that Sam bringing Eileen back to life was Chuck's plan all along (what isn't? I mean, he's God, he's writing everything so I don't know why we didn't think that before). And then, the remaining of the episode, as far as that story-line go, it was just Chuck showing Sam what will happen if they defeat him, which obviously doesn't end well. There's actually a lot of interesting things in what Chuck shows Sam, one of them being that Sam and Dean end up turning into Vampires and killing Jody in the end. I mean, that's something that I really don't want to see in the end, like when the show ends, but wouldn't it be interesting if they were showing us how the series will end? That would be kind of cool, even if I don't like that ending. Also, seeing Dean as a Vampire was way too funny and I couldn't take him seriously.
At the same time Sam is seeing this, Dean and Castiel return to Purgatory in search of a Leviathan Blossom, which they learn sprouts when a Leviathan dies. And again, of course something has to happen and the two are ambushed by Leviathans working for a vengeful Eve. Still, in the end, they manage to 'win' and return with the blossom. Also, I think it's important to mention and Castiel and Dean finally make amends. It was a pretty touching scene, when Castiel just 'vanishes' and Dean wakes up and can't find him. Because of that, he prays to Castiel and apologizes for everything, and he even cries! It was really cute, and it was about time!
Back from Purgatory, Dean and Cas worry on the spell to defeat God but, when they arrive to the place where Chuck has Sam, Sam refuses to complete the spell, after seeing what might happen if they defeat Chuck and, because of that, Chuck regains his full power back and Sam's wound heals. In the end it is revealed that he wound was there because Sam still had hope, but after what Chuck showed him, he lost his hope and God became powerful again.
I felt really bad for Sam in that moment. Basically they «lost» because of him, but it was so nice to see Dean support Sam after that. And straight away they decided they had to come up with another plan and... That's when two of the most exciting things of the episode happen! One, Sam and Eileen finally kissed! Yes! I know Supernatural is not made of ships but I truly ship Sam and Eileen and I was so happy to see that finally happening. Sure, after that Eileen left, having doubts about what was real and what was not (about Sam's feelings, mainly) but still, it was such a nice moment and I hope Sam gets somehow a happy ending.
But then, something that I've been waiting for for so long happened - Jack! Yes, in the very end, in the Empty, Billie tells Jack that "its time" and the episode ends. It was just a few seconds but it got so hyped for the next episodes!
Next episode is going to be 'kind of' a filler one, but from the preview it looks like it's going to be a fun one, with Dean and Sam having 'normal people problems' and that sounds to me like a really funny episode, can't wait for that!
Well guys, this are my thoughts on the latest Supernatural episode. Let me know what you thought of everything that happened and I'll see you in my next rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Legends of Tomorrow | Season 5 Episode 1 - "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Five"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello!
So, here we are. Crisis finale! Well, I'm not going to waste any time and I'm just going to say it - I'm disappointed.
That's right folks, this crossover was not what I was expecting. Was it good? Yes. Was it as epic as they were promising? Not really.
The thing about Crisis on Infinite Earths was the stakes. The battle in the comics is huge, with Barry and Kara dying. Obviously we knew those two weren't going to die. Instead, Oliver would take their places, which happened... But that was it. I feel like I can speak for everyone when I say that we were expecting a ton of characters to die (a lot from Legends, in my opinion) but, in the end, Oliver was the only one to die, which was such an awful and disrespectful death. I don't know, I just know that this was not what they promised.
And now you say - What about all the 'cameos' and Easter Eggs? Well, those were great, don't get me wrong, but they were just that - a few cameos that made the crossover special, but they didn't add to the 'epicness' that I was expecting, mainly from this last episode. I saw someone say on twitter this and I totally agree - They focused way too much on the cameos and on the crossover being a 'fan service' that they forgot about the story and to play homage to our characters. And what makes everything worse is that there wasn't enough characters in this final battle, let alone Legends characters, which was what I was expecting, after all, this was a Legends episode.
However, the beginning was nice. The beginning of the episode gave us the feel of a Legends episode, with the fun, the jokes and, obviously, with Bebo. Yes, Bebo was back for this crossover and he was the last good thing in this. As soon as they 'killed' Bebo, it just went downhill. Yes, Black Lightning appeared again but it was so short. And again, where were Cisco, Iris, Ralph, Nora, Constantine... There were so many characters left out of this episode and I just wanted to see an epic final battle with a ton of superheroes and with a few more deaths.
In the end, I feel like this crossover was made just to get all our heroes in one Earth (now Earth-Prime) but then they messed that up too, when they showed that there's other Earths after all. From what I know, Crisis happens and then there's just one Earth left and... That didn't happen. Again, as I saw on Twitter, they just forgot about Doom Patrol, and Titans, and Swamp Thing and they couldn't mess that up (which they did anyway) so they had to 'keep' the other Earths.
Anyway, in the end, this crossover was just an huge disappointment for me. I saw people saying that this was the best one and, personally, I think this was the worst one. Even the last one was a lot more fun with Oliver and Barry switching. That was so much fun! And I kind of miss when they had smaller crossovers, like the first one with Oliver and Barry - my favorite duo.
Well, I'm going to end my rant here. Let me know what you thought of this crossover. Are you with the majority that loved it or are you with me? Tell me everything and I'll see you soon with new rants!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 8 Episode 8 - "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Four"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello people! Happy New Year!
Yes, I'm back for a new year of reviews and we're starting of with a bang! (or not).
That's right, my first review is the ending of Crisis. This post will be dedicated to the Arrow episode and after this one I'll post the Legends one (even though they aired right after each other).
I'm going to start right away with saying that this wasn't exactly what I was expecting (although, this part was better than the last one, but I'll get into that in the next post). I liked the beginning of the episode. I liked how they showed that some time has passed and, for a moment, I really thought that Barry had vanished, like it was supposed to, but then he came back and that's also when Oliver, as Spectre, shows up and tells them the plan. I'm not going to get into it because, not only is really confusing, but not even myself understood it 100% so I'm just gonna say that they had to travel through the speed-force to where it all started and, of course, something had to go wrong. While in the speed-force, they are attacked by the Anti-Monitor and they get lost and it's up to Barry to find them. That's when the best thin about this episode happens - Ezra Miller! That's right, Ezra's Flash from the DCEU appears and our Barry and Ezra's Barry interact and, even though I'm not a big fan of Ezra, I was really fangirling at the fact that they were able to, not only do this, but keep this a secret! For sure, the best about this episode.
After that, Barry go get each of the Paragons and they all meet in the Anti-Monitor's world where, initially they fight more 'dementors' and then there's a fight between Oliver aka Spectre and the Anti-Monitor. And just like that, Oliver dies again. This time, for real.
This is a bit of a spoiler for the next post but needless to say that I was hopeful throughout the whole part five. There was just no way Oliver died, again, just like that. Yes, he was with Barry and Sara, but what about Diggle?! I mean, I really didn't like how Oliver died (again) and I'm still going to be waiting for him to make an appearance in the last episode of the show.
Well, in the end, they all see a new 'world' being formed and... That's how this part ends.
I have a ton more thoughts on the finale of the crossover so I'm not going to waste your time. Overall, this episode was fun, mainly because of Barry, but it felt a lot more like a The Flash episode than an Arrow one. And truth be told, I'm kind of afraid for the end of Arrow, but we'll see.
That's it for now and I'll see you in a few minutes with the final part of Crisis!
Love,
Daniela.
