The Challenge: War of the Worlds | Season 33 Episode 8 - "Liar, Liar"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello people.
Here I am with the only series that will have reviews for a while (all the others are on hiatus) but, unfortunately, not a good one.
It seems like everything is going wrong this week and The Challenge had to be affected as well, with my only favorite team left leaving - Jenna and Gus. That's right guys, from now on, it's only a bunch of idiots in the game and I don't know how I feel about that. I truly kept thinking if there was anyone that I kind of liked left and... no. I kind of don't mind Nany, and she was friends with Jenna, but I don't necessarily like her so... To be honest, I hope now Bear wins this whole things just to show all the others that he is a competitor. Yes, he's also a dumb-ass and what he is doing with Georgia is so wrong but... I kind of like when the underdogs win (not in this case though, I was 100% rooting for Jenna).
Well, since we are on the topic of what happened between Bear and Georgia I guess I could start with the proper rant and telling you that this episode actually had a ton of drama right in the beginning. All of it involving Bear and Georgia, but it was a big part of the beginning and it didn't end there. Further on the episode we got a bit more of that whole drama and, this time, also involving Hunter, which really escalated. Not that far though, but you know how guys are and they get way more violent than girls do. But, past that, we had a pretty good challenge, one that not only was physical and also had a puzzle, which is always nice (I can't wait for trivia though).
The outcome of that challenge wasn't the best, but it could be worse - Wes and Dee were the first ones to complete the challenge, followed by Nany and Turbo (which made me think that Jenna was going to be safe) and then, the last ones on the Tribunal were Theo and Cara Maria. At least, Paulie wasn't in there.
Then, the nominations weren't really a surprise - Wes voted Bear, Cara Maria voted Kyle and Nany burned her vote on Hunter and Georgia (this almost went wrong, though).
Post this, and post the Tribunal talking with the nominees, it was pretty clear that Bear and Da'Vonne were the ones to go into elimination and... Yes, they were, and all because of Nany changing her vote, which was also what cost Jenna and Gus to go in.
I was really excited about this elimination because it was going to be a physical one, and anyone against Bear would be funny, but it wasn't funny in the end. Bear really is on a strike of luck and he managed to win Gus in the physical fight (the first time) and then Da'Vonne was really a good match to Jenna and, in the end, Da'Vonne won and... It wasn't time for Jenna win The Challenge yet.
I still have faith on my girl and I know, someday, she will be able to win the whole thing! I truly believed it was this year but... Guess not.
Right now, I really don't have much faith on who's left on the show but, from what I've heard, they are going to split up the teams and it's going to be individual games so... If that's the case, I might root for Ninja Natalie or Da'Vonne (even if she sent my girl home). At this point, I don't care about anyone but... Let's see, they might be different people once they are on their own.
Let me know what are your thoughts on the individual thing and who's left that you actually like? Tell me everything!
I'll see you guys next week!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 17 - "Inheritance"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
Another show that is going on hiatus for a few weeks, but not before a great spring finale!
That's right, this was one episode that I really enjoyed and really surprised me! It has been a minute since I get really shocked with anything that happens on any series really, but mainly on Arrow, and I just loved that the ending of this episode was just... Wow! Really wasn't expecting it at all! Yes, there were parts really expected as Emiko betraying Oliver (who wasn't expecting that, really?!) but than, that ending! I don't have words!
The episode doesn't waste any time and, after a scene between Emiko and Oliver, we jump right to Laurel talking to Oliver and telling him that Emiko was the one that killed Diaz (probably the only think she has done right this whole season). Of course, Oliver being Oliver (and not only that, being a brother) doesn't want to believe so, to really be sure, he follows Emiko and finds her and Dante stealing drones from Palmer Tech. After that, Oliver confronts Emiko, who states that she owes Dante for helping her after their father abandoning her. Can I just say that I loved that they didn't drag things? Like, I know we are really close to the season finale (as well as series finale but let's not talk about that just yet) but this is the type of story that they would drag for a bunch of episodes so, I'm glad they didn't. They did drag a lot of other things during the whole season but, that's the past so, let's just forget about that.
So, after that, they used Archer to track Dante (with his DNA) and, once again, I love how they tied the Archer thing and I love how everything is finally making sense.
They find Dante and, in all that chaos (because yes, there was a fight, obviously, this is Arrow after all) Oliver saves Emiko when Dante seemingly turns on her, believing he has been betrayed (but we know better).
Emiko is taken to the Arrow bunker, where she feigns helping Team Arrow while secretly planting a jammer to take Archer down. Luckily, soon enough, Oliver finds the jammer and probably the best part of the episode happens - a fight between Oliver and Emiko. Not only the sound of that is epic, but the actual fight sequence was really cool, and I just loved that it was only the two of them, and inside the bunker, which didn't leave much room for them to fight. I really liked that fight, congrats on the fight coordinators.
Anyway, Emiko ends up leaving in the end of that fight and, while Archer is down, Emiko, Dante and the Ninth Circle steal some Sarin gas. Team Arrow tracks the Sarin drones to an airfield, where Oliver manages to take down almost all the drones, with only one of them releasing the gas on an abandoned building.
Then, in the end of the episode, it is revealed one of the big surprises - Emiko isn't just part of the Ninth Circle, she is the leader!
The other big revealed happened in the flash-backs. Yes, flash-backs! Maybe that was one of the reasons why I loved this episode so much - there was no flash-forwards and, instead, there were flash-backs of Emiko.
First of all we see Emiko meeting Dante for the first time. Then, as an adult, we see her training with him and later meeting with Robert Queen, her father, for business help, but she gets turned down, which leads to the big reveal - she knew about the explosives in the Queen Gambit and she said nothing, letting everything that we see in Season 1 happen! This was so huge like, for real! It ties everything together and now I am king of sorry that I ever doubted the producers and writers of the show. Yes, the show had better days but I love how, in the end, everything makes sense and now I'm just sad that the show will end next season.
So, this is it! Big reveal! Shocking!
Let me know what you thought about everything and there's still The Challenge episodes so... I guess I'll see you on Thursday!
Love,
Daniela.

Supernatural | Season 14 Episode 16 - "Don't Go in the Woods"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys.
This post comes really in a bad time. Last night's episode was actually really funny but after today's news... I just can't. As if ending Arrow wasn't enough... Season 15 is also going to be Supernatural's last. That's right guys, the news came out today. I don't know why but they decided to end the show after next season and I'm just devastated. All my favorite shows are ending and, not only I won't have content for the blog anymore, but it's also a part of me, a part of my life, that will also end. TVD's end was the end of an era in my life and I believe this is the end of another era. I don't know what the universe is trying to say but it seems like they're saying that I'm too old to fan-girl about shows and... I just don't like that. But, anyway, I'm rambling now. Yes, it's so sad that another of my favorite shows is ending, but we still have a bit of time (Season 15 is going to have 20 episodes, from what I've read) and there's last night's episode to talk about so... Let's do it!
Like I said, this week's episode was also another fun one. Not as fun as the last one though, but it was nice - another case of the week with a sprinkler of Jack in is own story-line.
The episode actually begins in Polk City, Iowa, where a young couple is attacked by a monster which kills the girl. So, as you can expect, the brothers find about this and decide to head over to Iowa, but leaving Jack behind in the bunker.
Sam and Dean discover that they are facing a legendary monster called kohonta which the local sheriff reveals is a man that was cursed by the Native Americans for being a cannibal. Long story short, the Winchesters and the sheriff kill the kohonta and save the sheriff's son from it. Of course it wasn't that easy, it never is, but you already know the deal so I guess I don't have much explaining to do. Plus, there wasn't much to that story, to be honest. Yes, the monster was pretty gross and this episode gave us some Season 1 vibes but, apart from that, there wasn't much else. Well, there was a part where the sheriff asks the brothers why don't they let the whole world know about the monsters, like do some YouTube videos or something and, in one way, I found it really funny, imagining Sam and Dean doing some videos on how to kill a demon or something but, on the other hand, it gave me an idea of how the next season could be or, right now, after finding about the end of the series, how the show might end and... I'm kind of scared right now.
But anyway... At the same time all of that was happening with Sam and Dean, Jack befriends the local kids that know about the supernatural after that episode where they had an encounter with the ghost of John Wayne Gacy. The whole story-line with Jack and the kids was really funny - starting with him trying to buy beer and not having an ID, moving to him giving Elliot some books about monsters and... So many things about that part of the episode were super cute. Until Jack tries to show off his powers and almost killing Stacy with an angel blade. You know how Jack is, he gets really carried away and... like he mentioned in this episode, he's 2 years old in reality so, it's normal for him to act that way. I can't help but feel sad for him, really, because after that, the three kids just didn't care about him and sent him away. Poor Jack.
And, in the end, after arriving, the Winchesters admit the truth to Jack about why they left him behind, but Jack lies about what he did that day, which makes me kind of nervous, to be honest. And this was the episode.
Like I said, a lot of Season 1 vibes. Kind of chill but kind of heavy at the same time and, as we are approaching the end of the season, the episodes are going to get more serious and, from the looks of it, the next one is going to be good so... Let's see.
Unfortunately, the show only comes back in the beginning of April so... Another show on hiatus. It looks like it's just Arrow and The Challenge next week.
Until then...
Love,
Daniela.

The Challenge: War of the Worlds | Season 33 Episode 7 - "This Means War"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everybody! I'm so happy with this episode!
This is as good as it can get, to be honest. After Bananas going home, this is the best episode I could have right now, and I'm so thankful for it.
Yes, this episode was the one that sent Amanda home, finally! Not only that, but my girl Jenna was part of the Tribunal and she was the main reason why Amanda went home so... Everything aligned in this episode and I'm so happy for that.
Well, I have basically told you everything big that happened in this episode, but I can make a little summary of everything.
As per usual, the episode started with some game plans and a bit of foreshadowing of who was going to win the challenge and who was going to me nominated. Then, just like they have been doing lately, they moved to the actual challenge pretty quickly.
The actual challenge looked like it was going to be kind of difficult. Not because it was really physical or anything, but because it relied on partnership and trust and that's something that not many teams in this competition have. But then, after the first teams, everything run smoothly (at least, it looked like it) and it was over pretty quickly.
Just as I said before, Jenna and Gus were one of the teams that won, and among them were Wes and Dee and, surprisingly, Bear and Da'Vonne (which I'm not even mad about, to be honest).
The teams that they nominated were kind of expected - Jenna chose Amanda, Bear chose Paulie (even though Da'Vonne wanted to send it Nanny and Turbo) and then, the surprising one was Wes who decided to nominate Kam and Ashley. I mean, he wanted to send in Bear, but since he couldn't, he had to choose someone from the British alliance.
Then, in this episode, they decided to go out and, as you already know, stuff happens when they go out and yes, something happened - Josh and Ashley had kind of a fight, nothing serious though, but enough to make what happened next happen.
So yes, the two teams sent to elimination were Josh/Amanda and Kam/Ashley - Josh and Amanda sent by the Tribunal and Kam and Ashley chosen by Josh and Amanda.
Everything was going pretty well for Josh and Amanda (unfortunately) until they just couldn't do it anymore and then... It was pretty easy for Kam and Ashley to beat them and yes, Amanda was finally sent home!
I've already told you this but I'll say it again - I'm happy with all this outcome and this whole episode, let's just keep everything this way.
I really hope Jenna and Gus keep doing what they're doing - Silent but deadly. I feel like this is Jenna's year so, let's make it happen!
Let me know all your thoughts on this amazing episode. Are you also happy that Amanda went home? Or were you rooting for Kam and Ashley? Tell me everything and I'll see you tomorrow with a new Supernatural rant!
Love,
Daniela.

The Flash | Season 5 Episode 17 - "Time Bomb"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
So, here I am with a brand new The Flash rant (and the last one for a while).
Just like Arrow's episode, this episode of The Flash was an highly anticipated one (because of the whole thing with Nora) but, unlike Arrow, this was a really pleasant episode, at least, in my opinion. I guess I'm just going to tell you right away my overall thoughts because, the truth is, there wasn't much story development in this episode - or should I say, the story was all the same and there wasn't a 'baddie of the week' or something. In this episode, there was the baddie of the season and the whole thing was really surprising to me.
We finished last episode finding out about Grace being also Cicada and, like I said, it wasn't a big surprise really and it was also pretty obvious that she was from the future, just like Nora. What surprised me instead, in this episode, was how quickly they figured it out. I was seriously thinking that they would drag this whole thing for a few more episodes (maybe even until the end of the season) but they didn't and they realized that this was Grace and that she was from the future. Then, like I said, the story was simple - they kept trying to find her and 'change her mind' throughout the whole episode, even to the point where Orlin was on Team Flash's side and... It all ended with a bang! I guess I should've seen it coming but the truth is that I didn't and, in the end, Grace killed Orlin! That really got me!
But this whole thing with Grace wasn't really the reason why everyone was looking forward to this episode - Nora and Eobard were, and we got our payoff.
Yes, they decided to leave everything to the very end but I guess it was worth it. Sherloque was the one to tell everything to the Team (with Nora present, though) because he figured it out during the episode (which we actually saw him following the clues). As you can imagine, Barry wasn't really happy and that scene actually pained me. You could really see the disappointment in Barry's face (congrats to Grant from the amazing acting) and then he took a really extreme measure - he locked Nora in the vault/'meta-prisons' (or whatever it is called) and, in that moment, I kind of felt bad for Nora.
The episode just ended like that and now we are going to have to wait until April 16 to find out more about this whole thing with Nora and Eobard, but I guess it's going to be worth it because not only I'm super curious about the finding out the truth but also the episode is called 'Godspeed' (finally) and it's the one directed by Danielle Panabaker so... I expect great things!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to post the rant right away because I'm going to be on holidays on April 16 so... I'm going to have to stay away from social media to avoid spoilers... It won't be too hard, I guess.
Anyway, before I end, I just wanted to add that Ralph was finally back for this episode and, you know me, that makes the episode even better.
Okay, I guess that's it from me. Let me know your thoughts on the episode and I'll see you, with a new The Flash rant, in April (but I'll see you tomorrow with a new The Challenge rant).
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 16 - "Star City 2040"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone and here is a brand new week of rants!
It seems like this has been happening a lot lately but, once again, I missed half of last night's episode of Arrow and I had to re-watch it again today. Not that it is a big problem but it just leaves me a bit sad because I like to live tweet during the whole episode. I still live tweeted though, but not in the first half. But anyway, I'm going to stop rambling and really talk about the episode.
Finally it aired! I believe I can say that this was an episode that a lot of people was curious about. Not only because this was just flash-forwards and that is already something pretty unique but also because this was the one that would make us understand everything that we have been seeing (from the flashbacks) and... I have mixed feelings. Overall, the episode was okay and I wasn't that bothered about it being all in the future but, you already know by now but I just don't like Mia. Maybe it's because it's Kat who's playing her and you know that I don't think Kat is a great actress but I believe it is also the actual character of Mia. I prefer William so much! You have no idea! Also, this was an whole episode without Oliver and... I don't know how I feel about that.
Anyway, the episode beginning with a little bit of a background on Mia - we see her training since she was very young and we even see her training with Nyssa (as you can see in the banner) which was a nice touch to the episode. We also see how and why she gets so bitter towards Felicity and that's when we get to what was happening in the flash-forwards, with Mia and William following Felicity's coordinates to Galaxy One. The two are almost caught, but are saved by Connor, who reveals himself as an agent from Knightwatch - the good version of ARGUS, as he says.
Meanwhile, we see Roy, Dinah and Zoe trying to find William and Mia and then being confronted by Rene who tells them the plans of Galaxy One about blowing up Star City.
Back at the headquarters of Galaxy One, Mia, William and Connor enter the building's sub-levels, where they find and imprisoned Felicity, who tells them that the bombs are in the building. They free Felicity and go after the bombs. That's when the whole group reunites, with Roy, Dinah and Zoe and that was one of my favorite scenes. Felicity and Dinah are my favorites so I just loved to see them hug and be friends, which we don't really see in the present day, to be honest. After that, they are also met with Rene who tells them that the bombs are already on-site and that there are no plans to evacuate the city.
The group then infiltrates a party, where Mia destroys an electronic device held by Kevin Dale, the head of Galaxy One, that disables the bombs. This was one of the scenes that was really bittersweet for me. I loved the bond between Felicity and William and the fact that William is also nerdy, and I also loved the fight scene, I just wish it was Oliver instead of Mia, not only because I don't like Mia but also because that would mean that Oliver is alive (which, to be honest, I doubt).
After that, Dale comes up with a new plan to create fear that would enable Galaxy One to take the Archer program global and, after that, we find out Felicity's personal reason for going after Galaxy One - she created Archer. And that's how the episode ended.
In the end, I feel like I had too much faith on this episode. I was hoping that this would make a lot of stuff clearer and it didn't really do that. Plus, it made me hate Mia even more. I don't know... I'm really torn.
Let me know what you thought of the episode. Did you enjoy it? Where you expecting something else? Tell me everything!
I'll see you tomorrow with another rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Supernatural | Season 14 Episode 15 - "Peace of Mind"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
Here I am, once again, with a brand new Supernatural episode!
This has been a great week, with all my favorite series having great episodes - Supernatural being one of those as well. Even though this didn't really move the story (which I don't really know where it's heading), it was extremely funny and, with all the dramatic episodes we have been having, it was nice to see Supernatural get back into it's funny self. The truth is, basically all their problems were resolved in the last episode so they could 'chill' in this brand new one.
Besides it being really funny, we saw something different. There was a case of the week type of thing but, instead of Sam and Dean going to resolve it, Sam went with Castiel, and Dean stayed at home with Jack in order to help him (since he got his powers back and even some more from Michael).
The Sam/Castiel part of the episode was the funny one. They basically got themselves in a really old school and 'happy' town which ended up Sam like we can see in the banner - thinking that he's someone else and being all 'put together' with glasses and a little bun. Just Sam's look was funny but the Castiel lines were the ones that really got me. I loved Castiel in this episode! I mean, I always love him, but this really made Castiel (and Misha) shine and, in the end, Cas was the one in charge and the one that had to resolve everything, something that never happens. Well, in the end we discover that there's a guy that basically created this town. He has some psychic powers and that's why he was able to do it. As you can imagine, they were able to 'destroy' him but I was a little let down with that because they usually explain what type of monster they are facing and, this time, they didn't, and I wanted to know what type of monster he was (if anyone has any idea, please tell me, because I would really like to know).
Then, the Dean/Jack section of the episode was the more dramatic one. Dean didn't really do anything really, but he got Jack to talk to Donatello about the lack of his soul and what Jack might be going through and... I just love Jack! He's so pure! I loved the fact that they mentioned that he might be the most powerful creature in the universe and, even though he might be, he's still so pure and that's really adorable. I also loved that he said that Sam and Dean are the best people that he know - that really warmed my heart.
Overall, this was such a pleasing episode, I just don't know where they are heading with this, and thinking that we only have 5 episodes left... I'm a bit afraid, but let's see.
Next episode it looks like it's going to be another 'case of the week', but it looks like it's going to be a gross one so I'm excited!
Let me know what are your thoughts on this episode and what do you think is going to happen from now on.
Until then...
Love,
Daniela.

The Challenge: War of the Worlds | Season 33 Episode 6 - "In Love and War"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello people!
Yes, I know, I'm late with this post but you know... I was busy and I wasn't able to watch the episode earlier but what matters really is that I did watch it and I have a few thoughts to share with you.
Overall, I really liked this episode. There isn't much that really made me happy or surprised (kind of) but there wasn't anything that really pissed me off so... It was a nice episode. I mean, it's true that I don't really care much about anyone that is left in the game (apart from my girl Jenna. She's the only one that matters) so, it's going to be chill from now on...
So, this time, there wasn't much drama in the beginning nor it was really related to someone which left me a bit confused/surprised. There was a lot of Leroy in it so I knew something would happen with him but then, when they moved to the actual challenge, they didn't focus much on him so I kind of forgot about it. And, since we're already in the topic of the actual challenge I have to say, this week's challenge was the one that got me really pumped for this season, when I saw it on the trailer, so I was really excited to really see it and see how everyone did. Let's just say that it was a pretty difficult challenge and basically no one ended it, but some did, the ones that ended up in the Tribunal - Kyle and Matti, Wes and Dee, Hunter and Georgia. Cara Maria and Theo almost got it but it came to time and Kyle and Matti had a better time so they were the ones in the Tribunal, which I was really happy about, to be honest. It's karma really. I'm a big believer in karma and this episode just showed that it is real and it works and Cara Maria got what she deserved. But, moving on...
After what seems ages, we see the cast going out, which haven't been happening much lately and, when we see them in a club, you know something is going to happen, and this is when the whole thing with Leroy goes down. It wasn't really that dramatic, but it created some drama. Leroy was basically just jealous of Kam and he didn't like that she was flirting with Theo in front of him. I mean, I can't blame him really. He even had the decency to go and talk to her but, to be honest, I think she just didn't care and she just kept flirting and even making out, which left Leroy really upset. Not much else happened, just a few screams, although it did affect Leroy in the end.
In terms of nominations and everything, it was all pretty clear - Kyle voted Paulie, Wes voted Bear and Hunter voted Amanda - which I was so okay with. And, once again, when it came to actually decide, there wasn't a tie and Bear and Da'Vonne where the ones to go to elimination. And you can guess who the chose to go against - Leroy and Shaleen.
I was really torn in this elimination - in one hand I like Leroy and I wanted him to stay, on the other hand, everyone was doubting Bear and he just wants to go after Wes, which I'm all for, so... I didn't know who I was rooting for. I guess in the end I was rooting for Bear and Da'Vonne because I was really happy to see them win! Yes, it makes the British Alliance still pretty strong but, like I said, I only care about Jenna right now and, even though it looks like they are pretty close to going into an elimination, no one really has beef with either Jenna or Gus so... I have faith in them.
Like I said in the beginning, I enjoyed this episode and it looks like the next one is going to have some drama so, let's see.
In the meantime tell me which are your favorites right now and I'll talk to you probably tomorrow with a new Supernatural rant!
Love,
Daniela.

The Flash | Season 5 Episode 16 - "Failure Is an Orphan"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
This was another odd episode this week. I was able to watch it live, though, but I was caught up with something else at the same time so I had to re-watch the episode again today. It was kind of good because now I have everything fresh in my head, but it always pains me when I don't pay full attention to the episodes.
Anyway, I did enjoy this episode. I felt a little betrayed though because in the preview they made it look like Barry was going to find out about Nora and the Reverse Flash and they also made us think that we were going to see Godspeed and... None of that happened, which was really a bummer. Also, this was another episode without Ralph and you know how I feel about that. Plus, this was kind of a big episode when it comes to the story-line that I think Ralph should've been there but okay... I get it.
The episode actually begins with Nora visiting Thawne and the later telling her that they need to worry on finding Cicada because a new timeline is approaching and something really bad is coming with it. This makes Nora really rushing and getting all Team Flash on finding Cicada. That's when a new meta-human shows up, one that 'shoots' acid and it's in that moment that Nora realizes that the mark that that meta-human left when he attacked them, was also in the newspaper picture of Flash and Cicada's final battle. Thank God Nora didn't have any ideas and just told everyone about those facts and they really start working on finding Cicada, since the final battle is happening in that same day.
Meanwhile, Joe and Cecile go after Dr. Ambres, the one that has been helping Cicada, and that's when she reveals to them that Grace is also a meta-human now (not that big of a surprise, to be honest). I have to say, this were some of my favorite scenes, the ones between Joe and Cecile. I love their dynamic and it was just really cute.
Something else that I also enjoyed was the whole thing about Barry's speech. It has been a current 'theme' the fact that The Flash changes people's hearts with his words and, this time, this was essential. The first time it doesn't really work but, once they find out about Grace being a meta-human, Barry's speech really improved and he got Cicada to agree to take the cure, as long ad Grace takes it too. (The only issue in this whole thing thought is just that Barry keeps revealing himself to everyone but oh well...).
Cicada is taken to STAR Labs and given the cure, but during the operation the facility is attacked by a new Cicada, who takes down all Team Flash, takes Dwyer and kills Dr. Ambers.
And, in the end, it is revealed that the new Cicada is Grace which wasn't that big of a surprise, to be honest.
I don't know about you, but since that episode where Nora went into Grace's mind, I knew that Grace was going to be a meta and play a big part in the season (and not a good one).
In the end, I liked the episode but I felt a bit betrayed, like I said in the beginning, but let's see what the next episode brings.
Don't forget to let me know what you thought about the episode and I'll see you in my next rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 15 - "Training Day"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello guys!
This week's Arrow rant is a bittersweet one. First of all, I wasn't able to live-tweet during the episode because the hour changed in the US and, as you all know, I'm from Portugal and here the hour will only change in the end of the month, which means I was one hour late for the episode and, therefore, I missed it. And second, this past week we got some heartbreaking news - Season 8 of Arrow will be the last one, and with only 10 episodes (basically ending with the crossover). I can't say I wasn't expecting this, because I kind of was but, you know... I always had hope that the show would go on for a long time (maybe not as much as Supernatural, though) and what made me even more sad is the fact that I can see where they're taking this. With what happened in the last crossover and with the talks about the next one it really looks like they are going to kill Oliver in the end and... It really pains me. I started this blog with three series - The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and American Horror Story - and having two of those series ending... Really breaks my heart (plus, there's rumors that AHS is ending with season 10 so... it means all the series that started this blog, and that are my favorites, are going to be all gone in a couple of years). But, because not everything is bad, I have to say that I really enjoyed this episode. To me, this felt like a turning point in the story (which, in a way, is bad, since we're already in episode 15 and just now things are moving forward).
I feel like I really enjoyed the first part of this season, up until Oliver left prison and, until now, there were really few episodes that really stuck with me. Luckily, this episode was pretty good and I'm liking where this is going. As I said, this felt like a turning point where we ended some story-lines, made sense of others and I just liked the feel of everything overall (it's a bummer I didn't get to live-tweet, really).
One of my favorite things in this episode was the whole thing with the SCPD. In fact, that was the main thing in this episode and I think they made everything look coherent and end nicely. I loved Oliver's attitude in the beginning with really trying to work with the police and when he changed, it made sense. He worked with them, it didn't work and he realized he had to do things his way (or Team Arrow way). But, because there's the whole thing with the anti-vigilante law, they worked out a way to appeal to both parts, a bit of Team Arrow and a bit of SCPD, which was great and I loved the way it ended. To be honest, I don't know why they didn't think of that right away but I guess the Mayor is just really stubborn (I guess she changed her mind though, now).
Something else that I liked, and that I mentioned in the beginning, the episode also tied some loose ends. We understood a bit of how Diggle adopted Connor Hawk (Turner's son), we didn't stay long on the whole thing 'who killed Diaz' and we know that it was Emiko and, surprisingly, I really liked the confrontation between Emiko and Black Siren. I never really trusted Emiko so... We are now seeing her true colors. Now I just wonder why the hell did she kill Diaz?! Does that have something to do with Dante? Did Dante order her to kill him? And, as much as it pains me to say, I'm actually enjoying Black Siren's 'redemption' story. The truth is, everything is making sense in her story and, even though I still stand by the fact that it made Laurel's death a bit pointless, Black Siren's redemption arc has been well developed and I'm liking that.
I also liked the fact that there wasn't much of flash-forwards and that, the little that was, it wasn't too overwhelming and, once again, it made sense. I guess kudos to Emilio Ortega Aldrich and Rebecca Rosenberg because they did an amazing job with the writing of this episode.
Well, I don't think there's much more for me to say. Next episode is going to be the one all about the flash-forwards so, I hope we get a lot of questions answered.
Let me know what you thought of this week's episode and I'll see you guys tomorrow!
Love,
Daniela.

Supernatural | Season 14 Episode 14 - "Ouroboros"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
It has a been an amazing week for all my favorite series (apart from Arrow) and Supernatural was another one of those.
After that amazing episode before the hiatus, they had a really hard job but they surely pulled it off and OMG, I think this episode was even better than the last one, which is saying a lot!
The episode began looking just like any other 'case of the week' episode - with the Winchesters, Castiel, Jack and Rowena following a case involving a monster that paralyzed people and then ate them. I must say, this monster was really cool and, if I'm not mistaken, something they had never mention, so that was nice. They eventually find out that that monster is a gorgon (aka medusa) who is unable to see, with his clairvoyant powers, Castiel and Jack because of their 'angel blood'. After trying countless times to catch them, after finding out about this little piece of information, they take advantage of that and use Castiel and Jack to ambush him, only to fail to defeat him. When the Winchesters intervene, they also fail and Dean ends up unconscious, just before Jack jumps to action and kills the gorgon himself, in a really out of nowhere scene. Really, I wasn't expecting that at all!
And this is when the episode changes directions.
Everyone is worried about Dean and him not waking up, also in fear of what might happen to Michael, while, at the same time, Jack struggles with the fact that he can't help Dean or he might burn all of his soul.
Dean eventually wakes up but it's too late. They find every hunter in the bunker and that and that's when it's revealed that Michael forced Rowena to become his new vessel. Again, something that really surprised me! But this doesn't end here.
Jack feels like he must do something and that's when this amazing battle between Jack and Michael happen, ending with Jack exorcising Michael from Rowena and destroying the archangel, absorbing his grace and getting back his powers (and his wings, which was one of the most beautiful scenes ever!).
The episode just ends like that and, to be honest, it couldn't end better. The only issue now is, if we are done with the whole Michael thing (and we aren't getting into the Empty story-line this season, according to the producers) what is going to happen in the next 6 episodes?! This kind of makes me feel uneasy. I can clearly see this ending with an huge cliffhanger and I'm just not prepared for that.
Well, I guess that's all I can say about this episode. It seems like not much but I truly loved this episode (it's always like that, I lose my words when the episodes are that good). But I hope you don't lose yours and let me know what you thoughts of the episode.
I'll see you guys in my next rant!
Love,
Daniela.

The Challenge: War of the Worlds | Season 33 Episode 5 - "The Greatest Showman"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
Here I am with a whole new shocking The Challenge episode!
That's right, after Ashley, Bananas and CT, it was time for Zach to go home. How is Amanda still in the game?! I don't know, but hopefully she'll be next.
Anyway so, this episode got me feeling all the feels and I have so many things to say about it so let's not waste any time.
As per usual, the beginning of the episode gives us a few clues of what's about to happen - we see Zach saying a few more things about Cara as well as we see a really cute bonding moment between Nany and Turbo. After that, we move pretty quickly to the week's challenge (I'm really happy that they have been doing this so far and not wasting a ton of time in the beginning of the episodes with drama so... Nice work producers!).
This week the challenge was a tough one. It was basically an endurance challenge and I was pretty happy that Jenna was one of the first teams. Unfortunately, Cara took her place and, now that I think about it, if it had been Jenna and Gus to be the third team in the tribunal, a lot would have happened differently. Unfortunately, both Cara Maria and Paulie were in the Tribunal, alongside with Nanny and Turbo (the hint from previously).
When it was time to choose three teams to nominate, it was obvious that one of those would be Zach and Zahida. Then, because Bear quit in the challenge and left Da'Vonne doing everything by herself, they were also chosen (even though Da'Vonne wasn't really to blame, it was just because of Bear) and then they basically chose Jenna just because... No real explanation.
After that, it was time for the Tribunal to speak with the nominated teams and... So much drama happened! First of, this whole thing between Cara and Zach... Ugh! I'm really disliking Cara right now. I used to not like her, in the very beginning, but then she grew on me and because there's a lot of other girls that really piss me off, I started liking her. Right now, I despise her. This whole thing with Zach was really pointless and she needs to stop with this whole thing that all men are against woman and that the only good man is Paulie because, clearly, he's not - otherwise they would be together right now, which they aren't. I'm all for girl power and everything but... Enough is enough! Yes, Zach might have been a douche, back in the day, but I can see some change in him and, to be honest, I only really was disrespectful towards Amanda and I can't really blame him. Anyway, besides that, there was also the whole thing with Bear and... Yes, he really screwed up and I just feel really sorry for Da'Vonne because she has been a great competitor so far (ever since last season) and she's just a nice and funny person so... I'm sorry for her being stuck with a partner like that.
So, in the end, they all chose Zach and Zahida to go into elimination and they were really dumb (Zach and Zahida, I mean). They chose to go against Wes and Dee and, even though I don't like Wes and would like to see him go, there was other teams that they could beat way easily so... That was a dumb move from them which resulted with Zach and Zahida been sent home.
The vets are dropping like flies and so, I wish Cara Maria is next because she has been awful this season! Of course, I'm all for Amanda going home (the sooner the better) but this whole thing with Paulie and Cara Maria is really pissing me off and I'm so tired of them and them bragging about how great their relationship his (such a great relationship that they aren't even together right now).
Anyway, I'm going to stop here and just say that I keep rooting for my girl Jenna and maybe this will be her year because she really deserves it!
Let me know all your thoughts on this episode and who are you rooting for and I'll see you in my next rant!
Love,
Daniela.

The Flash | Season 5 Episode 15 - "King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello people!
So, as promised, here I am with a brand new The Flash!
The Flash is back from hiatus with a bang! The series keep doing this and it's just amazing - they come up with loads of different ideas to keep the audience following the show and glued to every episode (something that Arrow haven't really been doing) and this is another of those amazing episodes that they come up with. I have to say that I had really high expectations for this episode and it surely didn't disappoint me (the only downfall for me was Ralph not being there but, you know, I'm really bias towards him). A lot of people were expecting this to turn into a sh*t-show (which you can clearly think of, when you see the title of the episode) but it wasn't at all, and I'm so happy about that!
Everything starts with Cisco announcing that the meta-human cure is ready and so, they decide that King Shark is the perfect subject to test it on. However, they all agreed that they wouldn't use the cure as a weapon so they have to go to him and ask if he really wants the cure. And so, they go to ARGUS (having Lyla two nights in a row was nice, though) and request to get in contact with King Shark who then attacks them (which they later find out he was being mind controlled by Grodd).
On a second attempt, things still don't go as planned and so Barry is forced to use the cure on King Shark without his authorization in order to save Cisco. We all knew this was going to shake some waters and I could already see Cisco being mad at Barry, again, which ended up happening. However, that's when they find out about Grodd, when Grodd mind-controls Cisco making the later punch Barry. Grodd also mind controls Caitlin and, in the end, steals Dr. Lamden's telepathy crown to amplify is powers and mind-control everyone in the city.
That's when everything goes down. Shay (the human form of King Shark), after discovering that there's still a bit of dark matter in his brain, making him still be bit of a Shark, decides to give up being human and get back to his King Shark form in order to help Team Flash fight Grodd, in a way to make amends with everything that he did as King Shark.
Then, it comes this epic fight between King Shark and Grodd and... There's really no words to describe it. You really have to see for yourself. The only thing that I can say is that, obviously, King Shark wins in the end and they put Grodd in a coma, so he won't be able to have access to his powers and run away from ARGUS, again.
In the end, Team Flash has a talk about how the cure really works and that's when Barry suggests giving it to Cicada, and that's how it ends.
However, that trailer for next week looked amazing and it looks like Cicada won't really be the big bad of the season so... I'm really excited for it!
Let me know what are your theories for what's to come as well as your thoughts on this week's episode! I'll see you guys tomorrow with a new The Challenge rant!
Love,
Daniela.

Arrow | Season 7 Episode 14 - "Brothers & Sisters"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!
We are back with the usual programming and we are starting the week with a brand new Arrow episode (plus rant).
Unfortunately, I don't bring good news. I wasn't the biggest fan of this episode for multiple reasons. In the end, it kind of made up for the whole thing but, to be honest, this still wasn't a good episode, which is always a bummer.
The main issue that I had with this episode was the multiple story-lines. There was so much going on and I'm all for everyone having a different story but when you try to fit everyone's story-line in one episode it gets too much.
One of those story-lines in the episode was Emiko and Oliver, which right now looks like the most boring story-line out of all. Yes, in the end we got a 'big reveal' and now I can see everything connected, but it still is really boring and I just want this whole thing to be done with. Then, there's also the flash-forwards, which are also part of the reason why I didn't like this episode.
You all know that I hated the reveal of Mia being Felicity and Oliver's daughter, mainly because she is played by Kat McNamara, and right now, I even hate the whole thing more. Mia really showed herself in this episode and she's extremely stubborn and annoying - the bratty type of annoying. And the thing is, Kat always play those types of characters and she isn't good at playing them, which makes everything worse. I'm not even going to talk more about the flash-forwards because I just didn't like them. I'm really starting to understand why everyone was hating on the flash-forwards.
Well, the last story-line of the episode was really the best one, and I never thought I would say this because I'm talking about Diaz' story-line. I mean, it wasn't all just about Diaz, it also involved the 'Suicide Squad' and who we've always known that was going to be this season's villain - Dante.
Yes, we finally found out who Dante is and, to be honest, it was a bit underwhelming, at least, the 'reveal' of his face. However, his first fight with Oliver was truly something else and, just from that fight we can already tell that he's a better villain that Diaz ever was.
Anyway, a lot stuff happened, to be honest - Diaz has always been on Dante's side but, in the end, Diaz didn't get away and finally someone killed him! Thank God! We still don't know who did it, that's new mystery, but my bet is on Black Siren.
In the end, it's always revealed that Emiko is working with Dante and this whole thing with Oliver is all part of their plan, which was a big shock, to be honest. My theory now is that Dante was the one that killed Emiko's mother and then he 'rescued' her and she started working for/with him.
Let me know your theories on all of this and I guess I'll see you tomorrow with a new The Flash rant!
Love,
Daniela.
