The Challenge: Spies, Lies and Allies | Season 37 Episode 12 - "500"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!

Once again, I'm well aware that I still owe you three rants of The Sinner and I'm working on that. But first, we gotta talk about the new episode of The Challenge!

This is their 500th episode and it couldn't have been worse. Not only the same old team won but also there was just bad vibes throughout the whole episode with the Bettina thing. I feel really sorry for that girl because literally no one wanted her there, just Cory, and for that, I gotta appreciate Cory because he showed that he is a good person and a good friend and, honestly, made me like him a lot more.

But yeah, this episode really pissed me off with the whole Emy thing and, if I didn't like her before, I really don't like her now! I just get weird vibes from her and, honestly, she's so obnoxious! I get it, she's strong and, as a team partner she might be a good choice (or not, we'll find out in the next episode) but she's not stable and yeah... Don't like her.

So everything about this episode revolved around those two. The actual challenge was pretty cool, but as I said, the usual team won (Emerald) and team Ruby sucked! I was kind of rooting for Sapphire here because of Bettina, but right now, I think I'm back on rooting for Ruby.

When it comes to the nominations, things got a bit more spicy. Bettina wanted to be the house vote so she could pick her opponent, and I think that's a smart move. But Amanda sensed that her ass could go to the elimination if the agency picked Bettina, so she said that if she went into the lair, she would switch to the Emerald ream that's the last thing Emerald Team wants - they want to stay together - so, because of that, they went with Emy. And that worked out fine for CT's plan to get Emy on the Sapphire Team.

Yes, Emy picked Bettina and Emy won. So freaking annoying! And yes, Emy took Amanda's place and now Sapphire Team is what CT wanted - him, Kyle, Ashley and Emy. Yes, it does look like a strong team, but it's not just about strength, it's about communication and, to be honest, Ruby Team looks better now on that department - with Cory, Nelson, Logan,  Big T and Amanda.

To be honest, I think they have a chance now and, from the preview, we know that Sapphire doesn't win and Tori says "Let the games begin" so... Does that mean that Emerald Team is on the chopping block?! I don't know, but I sure hope so.

With all of this I just got really mad, felt really bad for Bettina and just want other Team to win that's not Emerald. I'm sick of it!

But that's it from me. Let me know what you thought of the episode and which Team are you rooting for and I'll talk to you soon.

Love,

Daniela.

American Horror Story: Double Feature | Season 10 Episode 10 - "The Future Perfect"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!

Ugh! I'm so pissed off! What a f*cking mess this AHS finale was. And what a disappointment! I was so excited with Part 1 and I was actually hopeful that this would be a good season but... I was wrong! This Part II just turned this whole season into complete garbage and I'm seriously annoyed at the fact that the series is renewed and I'm going to have to endure more of this. I mean, things might change but, after years of not so great seasons, I think this was time to stop. Well, hopefully they'll see the awful reviews this season is getting and they'll change some things *cough* writers *cough*.

But so, what was this ending?! Well... I don't even know myself. This felt so damn rushed and, to be honest, this last episode didn't give me anything new. This didn't feel like an ending at all and it was more like a filler episode.

The part of the episode 'in the past' left me so confused with some new story-lines that, to be honest, didn't really matter that much - I guess that was just to tells us that Mamie stayed young for a long time and is still present in Area 51, and that's when we move to present day and see the aftermath of what happened in the last episode. And not even that was handled that well.

We see security finding the 'baby' which they kill, Theta gets mad at that and kills the security team, Jamie and Kendall go look for Troy and Cal and when they find them dead, Theta appears and induces them into labor. Jamie's baby isn't what they need so they kill the baby and kill Jamie, but Kendall's baby is the perfect one so they decapitate Kendall and turn her into a 'making babies machine'.

Meanwhile, Mamie finds out that the aliens plan is to kill all human race and repopulate the world with their hybrids and, learning this, she decides to kill the 'baby machine' as well as the baby so that will buy them more time. She tells that to Theta who appears to agree with that plan but, as expected, she doesn't and then kills Mamie and Calico, who was working with Mamie, says that she disagrees with Mamie and she stays there as the 'baby machine' is ready to give birth to another hybrid. And that's how this awful season ends.

Seriously, I'm so mad at this and I don't have faith in American Horror Story anymore. I'm going to keep watching, at least to laugh at their awful choices but part of me is still hopeful that things might get better so... We'll see.

In the meantime, let me know what you thought of this season! Do you agree with me that this was awful? Which was your favorite Part? Also, I completely forgot to mention that they didn't even connect the two Parts so... Lazy writing much?! Ugh, I'm so annoyed... I'm going to end this here and hopefully I'll have more interesting reviews for you soon.

Love,

Daniela.

The Challenge: Spies, Lies and Allies | Season 37 Episode 11 - "Mucus Plug"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!

I know, I know... I still have a few other shows to talk about, but you know that The Challenge is my priority so, here I am to talk about the latest episode.

This one was a juicy one! It actually started out slowly, with a lot of set up - the Ruby Team working out to be better, a lot of the competitors talking with their families through Skype and just overall a huge set up. Right away this gives you some hints of how the episode is going to go.

So the weekly challenge comes and, as expected because of all the 'set up', we knew that the Ruby Team was going to do pretty well. However, it's said throughout the whole episode that Kyle didn't really follow the rules and, guess what?! His point was reduced and, in the end, the Ruby Team tied with the Emerald Team, and everything comes to the time, in which, sadly, Emerald did better and so they won.

I felt really bad for Kyle because it was because of him that they didn't win, but that only made me root for him even more when it came to the elimination.

Kyle was not The Agency's pick - Ed was - but then Ed picked Kyle to go against him. I mean, I can't blame him. Ed was not going to pick anyone from his Team and he wasn't going to pick Logan because he basically told The Agency to throw him into elimination so they could spare Logan (because of his injury but also because Logan kept Ed safe in a previous episode so Ed was a decent human being and figure he kind of owed him one). So it was between Kyle and Cory and, in hindsight, he should've picked Cory because the elimination was a Pole Wrestle and, I actually had no idea, but Kyle not only won one of those against CT, but he also won every single Pole Wrestle (and Pole Wrestle variation) so... That didn't go well for Ed. Kyle endured so much and he seriously made up for what he did in the challenge because Ed pushed him into the ground so many times but that was Kyle's plan all along - just endure and, when Ed got tired, take the pole from him and... It worked! Kyle won the two rounds and so, like that, Ed was sent home.

And now we're just left with Kyle's decision - change teams or stay? Well, I guess we all knew Kyle was going to switch, but not to the Emerald Team - he picked the Sapphire Team instead and took Nelson's place, sending him to Cory's Team which, to be fair, is not that bad, because I feel like now Ruby Team is going to work so much better together.

But regardless of Kyle switching teams, I'm still rooting for Ruby Team because I can't stand some of the people from the other teams and, at least, everyone from Ruby Team is either tolerable or I actually like them, like Big T and Logan so...We'll see... I hope the Ruby Team wins the next challenge or, at least, it's not the Emerald Team to win because I'm just so sick of them...

Okay, I guess that's it from now... How did you like this episode? Was it as exciting as it was for me? Let me know everything and I'll see you soon with a new rant!

Love,

Daniela.

American Horror Story: Double Feature | Season 10 Episode 9 - "Blue Moon"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello!

Ugh! Thank god this season is almost ending!

As per usual, exciting seasons of American Horror Story just end up being horrendous once it hits the halfway mark. And I had such high expectations for this season! I mean, not initially, but after a few episodes of Red Tide, I really thought they had finally done something right and, even though I didn't like the ending of Part 1, I could forgive it... If they gave us a good Part 2. Unfortunately, they weren't able to.

This episode really shows the mess that AHS has become. I can't say that it wasn't interesting, because it was, but the amount of conspiracy theories they used in this episode is bonkers! There was a new conspiracy theory every 5 minutes - from Marilyn Monroe's death, to Area 51 and even about the moon landing. It's crazy! And not even the 'past' is saving it anymore. Heck, I would go as far as saying that the 'present' has becoming a lot appealing to me! Not that it is good, because it isn't, but I guess that's why I'm more interested in that aspect - because it's so outrageous that I just want to see what insane thing they come up with next. While the past, although better acted, it's just boring at this point. We get it, America made a deal with the aliens, they gave us technology such as the microwave and the iPod, and yeah... That's it.

Yeah... I don't even know what else to say about this episode. The last part, again, was bonkers! With the delivering of multiple babies, Calico's story of how she was abducted (which was just to introduce the moon landing conspiracy) and with an existential crises from our gay couple. Again, everything is so over the top that the only thing you can do is laugh.

I don't have anything else to say so let me know what you thought of the episode and what do you think the finale will present us with? Will it be another mediocre finale? Tell me all your thoughts and I'll see you pretty soon with a new The Sinner rant because yes, it is back!

Love,

Daniela.

The Challenge: Spies, Lies and Allies | Season 37 Episode 10 - "Precious Stones"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!

Brand new episode of The Challenge and it looks like we have a completely different season!

That's right! After how the last episode ended, we were left wondering what was going to happen because Cory and Bettina didn't pick their new partners and Tori and Devin were left without a partner so... What was going to happen now? I guess we all predicted that it would be an individual game from now on and... They really lead us to believe that.

Surprisingly, there was a good amount of drama/filler in the beginning of this episode, which I wasn't a big fan of. Although, I have to give them props because most of it was about Amanda and you know what I say when there's someone really prominent in the beginning of the episode - they will most likely win the challenge or go to elimination. But this time, neither of those happened with Amanda, so I guess that was a nice twist! But I'm getting ahead of myself.

So, the daily challenge starts and TJ says that they're by themselves - no pairs. But there's a catch! They will do the first part of the challenge and then... They'll see once they get there - and the same happens to us, the viewers.

And what happens when they finish the first part of the challenge? Well, there's three podiums and they have to pick in which one they want to be and right away we know what this means - Teams! Nelson and Cory had a good strategy, because they were the first ones they decided to not stay in the same team so that way they can have each others back and have more people on their side. That's smart in my opinion and that's actually what I would do. Surprisingly, they were the only ones to do that. I mean, Emy and Emanuele also did that, but not on purpose.

Anyway... That was not the only change in the game.

After the second half of the daily challenge, where they played in teams and where the Emerald Team won hence they were safe from elimination, the Emerald Team would have to also pick a girl to go into elimination. And that's it! No house vote and, at this point, no other opponent.

It was kind of a difficult pick but, in the end, the Agency chose Priscilla to go into elimination. Once there, TJ lets us know that Priscilla would pick her opponent and that spices things up. Obviously because of everything that happened in the beginning of the episode, I really thought she was going to pick Amanda, but no. She chose Ashley and I have to applaud her because she stayed true to herself and she made big moves during this season so... I like Priscilla! Unfortunately, she lost against Ashley and I gotta be honest - that left me a bit bitter. Also, the surprises don't end here!

So Ashley wins the elimination so she has the option to stay in her team, change to the Ruby Team or infiltrate the Emerald Team, the winning team! That changes things up so much because not even the Agency is really safe, not from going to another team, so... I'm curious to see where things are going now.

Unfortunately there's not a lot of people left that I really like but we'll see... All I know is that Tori is going to switch to the Ruby Team because she had a red shirt in the preview so... That should be interesting.

Let me know what you thought of this new changes and which team are you rooting for? Personally I think I'm rooting for the Ruby Team - not only they're the underdogs but also it's the team that have more people that I like and least people that I don't like, but let me know yours.

I'll talk to you in my next rant!

Love,

Daniela.

American Horror Story: Double Feature | Season 10 Episode 8 - "Inside"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!

New episode of AHS and can you believe that we only have 2 more episodes left?!

That's right and, to be honest, I don't know how I feel about the whole thing. I really enjoyed Part 1 (apart from the ending) but I really disliked last week's episode. However, I think I got my expectations so low that now I enjoyed it?! I mean, they did present us a lot more stuff, but I guess I just accepted the fact that this Part is a lot more cheesy so I'm just rolling with it.

What I'm not rolling with is the acting in this part - specially all the actors from the present day. Once again, I guess their intent is to be cheesy, but their acting is so bad! Specially Kaia Gerber's... Ugh, it's a shame because she looks like such a nice girl but she's not a good actress...

However, I do have to say that, because of the whole thing with the pregnancy, I'm kind of curious to see where this story-line is going. On a technical level, the story that takes place in the past is a lot better and better acted, but because the story in present day is so over the top, I actually felt myself wanting to see more of it so... I just hope the cringe factor is intentional.

And well, I guess that's it from me.

Let me know your thoughts on this episode and I'll talk to you on my next rant!

Love,

Daniela.

The Challenge: Spies, Lies and Allies | Season 37 Episode 9 - "The War"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everyone!

Now things are starting to get interesting!

So, this is the first episode where there's no Rookie/Rookie team which meant it was basically every team for itself. And right away the episode starts with each group seeing who's in their 'team'. Obviously there were a few teams that knew they could be a target - Priscilla/Josh and Cory/Bettina. Priscilla for obvious reasons and Bettina because she's only rookie girl that hasn't been in an elimination. However, in a sudden turn of events, everyone forgot Priscilla and everyone was more focused on Ashley which, to be honest, I preferred. But I guess all of this happened because, surprisingly again, Nany and Logan won the daily challenge. I mean, it was all thanks to Nelson (and Ed as well) to which he made a deal and said they were safe from elimination, and they were indeed so... We can trust Logan (as if we didn't know already).

But rewinding a bit, the daily challenge was really fun. A lot of the 'strong' teams didn't even make it to Round 2 and Big T made it to the last Round, which always makes me so happy. But yeah, as I said, Nany and Logan won and that's why I think Priscilla was kind of forgotten. Not only that but Ashley really wanted to win and so I guess that also made a target on her back. Well, that and the fact that she's a vet winner that isn't really that trustworthy...

When it was time to vote though, it was a pretty big discussion with each little group trying to save their alliance and, in the end, the house vote was Bettina and Cory. As for the ones that Logan and Nany picked - Amber and Jeremiah. It was an easy choice because 1) Jeremiah is a rookie and 2) Amber is a winner and, let's be honest, everyone has been trying to get Amber out for some reason (to which I think there must be something that we don't know about).

So, Cory/Bettina against Jeremiah/Amber. I gotta say, I didn't really know who I was rooting for. I liked all of them equally and I wanted all of them to come back for different reasons. Cory and Bettina because that would piss off the house as well as prove that Bettina is not a weak player, and Jeremiah and Amber because everyone keeps sending Amber into elimination and I just wanted them to be frustrated one more time.

Well, Jeremiah and Amber started out great and they were in the lead, but they started getting tired and that's when Cory and Bettina got a grip on the elimination and yes, they won! Which was actually really nice and cute and made me like Bettina a lot more. And then, because all of this 'drama' wasn't enough, TJ had to throw a curve ball at us (and them) and no switching partners. I mean, he didn't say it like that but he just sent Cory and Bettina back to the group and, from the preview, something will change. I don't think it's as simple as just no more switching... I'm pretty sure they will start playing individually from now on, which is going to be great!

And I guess that's it from me. Let me know what you thought of this episode and who were rooting for - Bettina/Cory or Amber/Jeremiah? Tell me in the comments and I'll see you in my next rant!

Love,

Daniela.

American Horror Story: Double Feature | Season 10 Episode 7 - "Take Me to Your Leader"

Spoiler Alert!

Hello everybody!

Oh boy... I was indeed excited about this new story, even after the last episode, but now... My hopes for the remaining of this season just went down the drain.

Right away this didn't look as good - the opening credits aren't as good and the red flag for me, personally, was the lack of OG actors such as Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Finn Wittrock and Denis O'Hare. Not only that but also the fact that some of the main actors in this part are Kaia Gerber and Nico Greetham... Nothing against them, but the only place I know them from is American Horror Stories and that show is awful (as well as their characters). So granted that maybe it wasn't their fault and it was the material they were given but I just can't help but connect their names to bad stuff. But even with that, I was a little hopeful that I could be wrong. Well... I don't think I am.

The episode opens with scene from 1954 and that not only meant Black & White cinematography but the whole vibe was a bit cheesy. However, I was open to it because I thought it was intentional. We see some UFO abductions, other people coming back from their abductions and we even had an Alien autopsy - and that was when my hopes really started to decline. The look of the Alien is exactly what we think of when we say the word Alien, but again, I was open to it because I thought it was intentionally cheesy. Still, I think for a horror show, the aliens should've looked more scary and maybe less cartoonish. I don't know, I just wanted something else. But it's after that when things really go downhill.

We cut to present day - now in color - and we meet this group of friends (that's when Kaia Gerber and Nico Greetham come into play) and that's when we get the typical Ryan Murphy stuff. A ton of sexual content - not only that we see but also a lot of talk around the subject. That didn't used to bother me, but the more I saw people complain about it, the more I noticed it and now it really cringes me. I get that with some subjects (such as vampires) it makes sense, but it's becoming so obvious and so in your face... I don't know...I'm not a fan anymore.

So, we get a ton of sexual conversations and whatnot and a lot of pretentious stuff about technology and that's when this group of friends go to a camping trip to cleanse from technology and that's when they are abducted, come back and find out that their all pregnant. Yes, even the boys. And that's how the episode ends.

Yes, it's completely ridiculous and I seriously hope that is the intent because if it isn't... It's just awful. It isn't good already but at least I can respect it if it's intentional... But if it isn't... They just need to stop. However, we are going to have at least two more seasons so...

Yeah, let's see where this second part goes. We still have 3 episodes left and things can change but I'm not hopeful this time. But let me know what you think. Did you like this second part? Do you think the cringe aspect is intentional? Let me know everything and we'll see where this goes. I'll talk to you next week!

Love,

Daniela.
