Supernatural | Season 12 Episode 3 - "The Foundry"

Spoiler Alert!

New episode of Supernatural and, just like The Flash, back to basics.
This episode took us back to season 1, where the boys are back hunting but, this time, with a new member, Mary Winchester.
I liked this episode. Again, it wasn't one of my favourites because I'm still waiting for that boom! episode, but I liked this one better than the previous ones, maybe because the boys were back on cases and chasing monsters, which is always nice to see, and which I think it's going to happen in the next few episodes.
But yeah, let's get into the events that happened in this episode.
The episode starts with the case, a couple that hears a baby crying insde an abbandoned house and that end up frostbitten.
From this we switch to the boys who are having breakfast. Castiel appears saying that he has a lead from Lucifer and that he's going after that lead. After that, Mary appears with the case.
At first, the boys, mostly Sammy, don't want to take the case because they are kind of worried about Mary, but she insists and they end up going on a family hunting trip.
Some moments on that trip were pretty cute, because we got to see how much alike his mum Dean is, which is really cute. But I still felt like something wasn't right with Mary, which we find out in the end of the episode that she feels 'weird' and that everything is different from when she died.
But yeah, back to the case...
They go into that house and Mary is grabbed by a little boy's ghost, but she doesn't think he's trying to hurt her but tell her something.
Later, Sam and Dean, find out that a lot of children died in that house so they leave to burn the bones, leaving Mary alone in the motel. Of course, no one does what they're told and Mary starts calling people until she founds out what is going on and comes back to the house. That's when things go wrong.
The children are still there and she finds out that it is the father of the first girl that died that is keeping all this children there and that's when he attacks her. Sam and Dean get there in that exact moment but it's kind of too late, because he possessed Mary.
That was an scary moment for me, I was really afraid for her and for both Sam and Dean, but Mary is really strong and she got a few seconds out of the possession and warned the boys.
Sam finds the remains of the man and burns them and everything ends up fine.
Meanwhile all of this is happening, Castiel is after Lucifer, and some of the funnier moments in the episode happen with them. First, with Castiel impersonating a FBI agent called Beyoncé. Just Castiel to come up with something like that. And second, Catiel teaming up with Crowley! That was really really funny and I really enjoyed it!
Also, while Castie and Crowley are looking from Lucifer, we see the later with Rowena. He's demanding her to make his vessel permanent, so he doesn't die but, Rowena being Rowena, of course she tricks him and makes his vessel decay even faster and ends up sending him to the bottom of the ocean, and that's when Crowley and Castiel find her, to which she says she would help them if they come across Lucifer again.
And, the episode ends with a very sad scene - Mary leaving.
That's right, Mary tells Sam and Dean that she doesn't feel good with them, that everything is different from what it used to be, from what she had in heaven and she says that she needs some time for herself and leaves.
Of course Sam and Dean get extremely sad and I just feel so bad for Dean, I wish I could hug him. He looked really really sad.
But yeah, it seems like we won't have Mamma Winchester for a while and, from the preview for next week, we are going to keep going with the cases and have a break from all the Man of Letters (and probably Lucifer as well) storyline.
I'm kind of happy with that, even though I think the Man of Letters storyline is going to turn out to be an huge storyline but yeah... Let's see.
Until then, I'll see you soon with a brand new TVD rant.
Love,
Daniela.
